Jesus Created Marijuana, And It Should Be Legal
Patheos ^ | Sept. 8, 2016 | Benjamin L. Corey

If you grew up during the era of big wheels, horrid hair styles, and the Reagan administration, you probably grew up thinking that green plant you see above you was a really dangerous item. This is especially true if you grew up a Christian during that era.

I mean, it was the lowest level “drug” on the list of drugs, but it was the gateway drug. This gateway drug was to be especially feared, because it represented the slippery slope to every other drug or form of immorality. Even trying it once could result in you no longer wanting to wear your denim skirt. Try it twice and you might swap out Sandi Patty for Motley Crue. Three times? Well, by the third time you wouldn’t even want it anymore, because you’ll be in a dark ally buying an even harder drug with the money you got from pawning your wedding ring.

It was all a bunch of nonsense.

All these years later, it is still a bunch of nonsense.

When potheads worship their gad the pot leaf, they have no clue they broke the First Commandment: Y’all shall worship no other God but Him.

And if Jesus told a pothead to repent and turn from their pot, the pothead would try to behead Jesus.

Pot is a non nutrient. Billions of people have lived full lives without it. Pot ain’t necessary.

I had a long time friend that completely changed my mind about possible medicinal uses, right after Arizona legalized for that reason, until then, I was sure it was nothing more than a natural recreational drug, albeit safer than any other. He was the most rabid anti pot person I had ever met, he found out somebody smoked pot, he would not associate with them in any way, his kids could not be around them ever, etc... they were scum of the earth in his book, no better than a junkie on heroin... Flash forward 15 years and he is going through numerous surgery’s on knees, ankles etc. First one leg then the other, he is on pain management and had been awhile, heavy doses of oxycodone (synthetic heroin)... all day long, he could not even function and was about to lose a job he had worked his way up to for many years.

PLEASE, Look at states that have legalized Marijuana and notice their heroin overdose rates have ALL gone down.... In case you all don’t realize it, our country has a HUGE Heroin problem, especially small town America instead of the usual source that used to be the inner cities! Its the new war with drugs... we all know where the poppies grow and its not in the U.S. This shit is ISIS and Al Queda’s new weapon against the U.S. Cheap Heroin and with Obama’s open borders these smaller packages (than the huge weed bundles) flow across like water!

Anyway Arizona talks about legalizing and his Doctor mentions it too him and he was flat out no way... Then a couple weeks later, something happens with his prescription and it wont be refilled until after the weekend, his wife talks him into a pot brownie her girlfriend gave her. Monday rolls around and he calls his doctor and said sign me up... He was one of the first 100 original recipients of a medical card in Arizona... 4 years later he has not had a pain pill or patch in 4 years, he kept his job, had no problems functioning daily what so ever, would come home from work at night and eat a couple cookies and be good for the evening.

This all the while knowing, if they so desired, the Feds could come lock him up for doing what our state law says is legal.

Agreed, not a necessity... neither is alcohol or tobacco... lets ban both of them for the same reason... all or none, does not matter to me

We are in exactly the same situation as if the 18th Amendment was repealed, and the Feds simply continued to enforce the Volstead Act.

my mistake if that is not what you were saying, except I agreed with you... the same exact statement can be made substituting Alcohol or Tobacco was my only point and my belief is it should be all or none, pretty much that simple, referencing hallucinating makes me guess your somebody that has simply believed what you have heard from Reefer Madness or another similar source, its not the norm.

3) I cant find any evidence that it poisons people... Its the common argument, but deaths from overdoses are 0 a year, as far back as history shows.

The reaction of our bodies to it IS a reaction to a poison in our system. Brain impairment, dry mouth, increased hunger are all symptoms of our body trying to react to a poisonous substance.

2) Toxic properties... Ask outdoor growers how much it deters animals, the smell attracts many creatures that will eat it in a heartbeat.

Studies have been done that prove the point:

Cannabis as repellent and pesticide

there is mounting evidence it cures some cancers... Besides all its other good qualities it can be used for instead of taking a man made pill. Big Pharma has a HUGE stake in our government telling us there is no medicinal use... for far more than just cancer

Sorry, speculation, wishful thinking and pro-pot propaganda aren't scientific evidence. IF it cured cancer there is NO WAY it could be suppressed because virtually anyone can get it. In fact there's much more anecdotal evidence that smoking pot causes MORE cancer. For example:

This is a chart of cancer trends. Note that marijuana use became more accepted and frequent during the early 60's and by the 70's use was widespread. Note that cancer will rise about years behind pot usage. During the Reagan/bush 1 years marijuana use decreased dramatically due to the hardline against drugs and the just say no campaign...notice then the lag as the cancer rates drop.

It's more evident at this link:

Incidence Trend where cancer rates among men really spike 12 to 15 years after the free wheeling drug days.

Now many are saying that cancer rates are increasing and I will predict that cancer rates will again rise, this time even more so then ever before, in the next 10 years or so. The peak will not stop until people discover that pot and cancer are linked and even then it will be denied by pot propagandists.

Lastly I want to say I knew I was bringing up a touchy subject, but am a little surprised at all the conservatives typically against our dis-honest government that are blindly supporting our government’s position

I don't care what the governments position is. There is a definite correlation between pot usage, moral decay and the cultural destruction of America. The 60's and 70's were a bleak time by any measure but stoners. It was high times for druggies. The 80's were a time or moral and cultural restoration due to a strong anti-drug stance by our government and leaders. The 90's glommed a bit off the 80's but then Clinton, Bush2 and then Obama happened and none were really hardline against drugs. As a result the left has taken us further and further left, our culture has all but been obliterated by the values of the left and we're in an economic mess. I don't think it's a coincidence.

No I would not illegality alcohol use, just drunkenness. If one could smoke pot without getting high...well no one probably would. But people drink without getting drunk. Public drunkenness is a crime you know.

Well I don’t trust my fellow citizens to avoid abusing me and others and their helpless dependents when they are stoned. So I guess we are at an impasse.

I agree, fedgov should butt out and let Colorado regulate intrastate marijuana.

Personally I think our moral decay is a direct result of the elimination of God in the public eye for the entirety of my lifetime now. That has far more to do with it than the Evil Weed does. You say you don’t care what the governments position is on it, but then you go on to quote their position. Your studies you reference are ancient, because of their ban on even researching it. As far as curing cancer goes, will you believe what the national cancer institute has to say about it?
http://naturalsociety.com/marijuana-kills-cancer-cells-admits-the-u-s-national-cancer-institute/
Here is a couple more recent articles...
http://drsircus.com/medicine/cannabis-cures-cancer/
https://patients4medicalmarijuana.wordpress.com/how-cannabinoids-kill-cancer-dennis-hill/

I would be really interested in your theory as to why the human body has cannabinoid receptors if they are not intended to receive cannabinoids?

Obviously no way to prove it, but if there were, I would put a big stack of cash on it, that you deal with people in your daily life that have smoked weed in the previous 24 hours that you never had the first clue they had done so.

Good reference for someone who states a premise then deflects from that premise when confronted with facts that contradict it.
