Jesus Created Marijuana, And It Should Be Legal
Patheos ^ | Sept. 8, 2016 | Benjamin L. Corey

If you grew up during the era of big wheels, horrid hair styles, and the Reagan administration, you probably grew up thinking that green plant you see above you was a really dangerous item. This is especially true if you grew up a Christian during that era.

I mean, it was the lowest level “drug” on the list of drugs, but it was the gateway drug. This gateway drug was to be especially feared, because it represented the slippery slope to every other drug or form of immorality. Even trying it once could result in you no longer wanting to wear your denim skirt. Try it twice and you might swap out Sandi Patty for Motley Crue. Three times? Well, by the third time you wouldn’t even want it anymore, because you’ll be in a dark ally buying an even harder drug with the money you got from pawning your wedding ring.

It was all a bunch of nonsense.

All these years later, it is still a bunch of nonsense.

I don’t thin any FReeper is arguing against the medical use of any plant. We can all see, with our own lyin’ eyes, that the huge majority of the medical pot users just want to get high. And no, deliberately altering your consciousness to this degree is NOT a victimless crime.

My grandfather taught me the answer to all mans questions were in the bible... I find it mentioning Alcohol specifically but only thing I could find on Marijuana was covered within the quote he made, I also found references that it may have been an ingredient used in making the anointing oil...

“Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food.” Genesis 1:29

I don't see the article saying anything about smoking it... Just legalizing, I did mention smoking it in my comments because it is probably the most common way it is used today, but the way it works best medically is in edibles

I would be interested to read your links on proof it causes brain damage though...

It may be the only drug they found in his blood stream but I would put money on it there was another synthetic they did not know to test for also there...

It’s just as potent of an intoxicant when eaten as it is when smoked, possibly more so.

No, it’s not preposterous, your analogy does not hold. We have no reason to WANT to drink rattlesnake venom, but we do USE it for anti-venin.

Isn’t this the same argument as “God created gays?”

Yeah same argument made, but I cant find anything supporting their lifestyle in the bible, where there is plenty said against it

“Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food.” Genesis 1:29

Be careful with your interpretation of Galatians 5:20 and your attempt to define sorcery because, pharmaceuticals also save lives.

George Washington wrote a treatise on how to cultivate hemp in the “sin semilla” style. Only one reason for sin semilla.

So, you can’t argue the facts so you go ad hominem, is that it?

The question is simply should it be illegal and should people be spending time in jail because they smoke something God put on this earth... Man makes alcohol and it is far worse for society but legal. My argument is Make Pot Legal or Alcohol Illegal again, I don’t care which!

It is still schedule 1 and should remain there.

And another leak is taken on the Tenth Amendment.

I am against smoking tobacco personally, but don’t think it should be illegal... that said, you don’t do anything to make marijuana a drug, it was made that way from the beginning. It is processed exactly like I do my hot peppers every year, air dried.

First of all, the Word through whom all things were created didn’t become Jesus until 2,000 years ago. Not that that makes any difference. Just that it’s silly to say “Jesus” created everything.

God made arsenic, and high cliffs, and hungry tigers. So these pose no danger to anyone?

The real reason there should be no federal drug laws is that the people have never given Congress the power to make such laws.
