Fake News: When the media report these claims by Obama without challenging them, it's the definition of fake news
Most of the coverage of this, especially on conservative sites, has focused on Obama’s claim that the media were unfair to Hillary during the election. Yeah. I don’t even know what to say about that one other than to shake my head and give the man back-handed props for his willingness to say absolutely anything, no matter how self-evidently absurd.
But I think there are two far more substantive points to deal with here. Actually there are surely more than two. The claim that the U.S. is more respected abroad today than before Obama took office is astonishing on its face, for example. But let’s deal with these two:
Obama who?
Well, he sort-of cut the deficit. is first year in office he made the deficit be huge, the largest ever by a wide margin, so large that if he cut it in half it would still be gargantuan.
So...if he reduces this monster by 20% per year, he takes credit for reducing the deficit by 20% ad it’s still larger than any in history. From the lazy viewpoint of a MSM reporter, they can fact check that and find that indeed, he cut the deficit by what he said, nothing to report here.
if it takes a paragraph and a graphic to explain MSM won’t go there and the LIV won’t understand it.
“Sure, we cut the deficit right from the start when we brilliantly thew almost $1 trillion down the ‘stimulus’ rat hole. Remember? Wasn’t that great? We’re so great.”

More than doubled the debt in 8 years from the 200+ years before you arrived, but you cut the deficit????

A new deficit is created every year. Also he’s comparing to the deficit created by the bank bailout.
Great growth? Deficit cuts?
Is Obama President of the United States? Or President of Fantasyland?
Greece cut their deficit too, after unemployment rose so high they couldn’t afford to buy anything, much less import stuff.
It’s easy to cut the deficit in half if you first quadruple it!
Print money like there's no tomorrow while artificially zeroing inflation and calling it GDP growth, and still having the worst 8 year period of GDP growth recorded-- yeah that's great. Then, double the national debt and claim to have cut the deficit. Yeah, okay.

Libs love to try this tactic, you start talking about the apocalyptic level of national debt, and they will try to flip the conversation into talking about “deficits”, which are essentially meaningless in the big picture. They hope that most people won’t know the difference to call them out on their BS.
