Is The Kremlin Funding A Campaign That Undermines U.S. Fracking?

The recent National Intelligence Council report assessing the involvement of Russia in last year’s U.S. presidential elections spurred a flurry of media reports suggesting that Russia is heavily involved in anti-fracking campaigning. Some authors interpreted this involvement as a “propaganda effort”, while others claimed the Kremlin was financially backing anti-fracking groups in the U.S., without, however, providing any evidence for this claim.

The basis for all these reports is part of the report, in which the authors discuss the agenda of RT, a state-funded TV channel and website that is widely seen as the Kremlin’s chief megaphone abroad. They quote shows and reports that led them to conclude that RT aimed at fueling discontent in the U.S. and influence interior politics.

Anti-fracking rhetoric was identified in the report as a major element of RT’s agenda and interpreted by the report’s authors as reflecting Russia’s concern about the growing influence of shale oil and gas on international markets and “the potential challenges to Gazprom’s profitability.”

The only county that can effect fracking in the US is Saudi Arabia. If they crank up production, fracking will not be profitable.

But here's the problem for Saudi Arabia: their easily recoverable oil reserves are starting to run out. They will need better extraction technology--including fracking--to get at other oil reserves found in the interior of the country, especially the so-called Empty Quarter (known in Arabic as Rub' al Khali).

There are many solid reasons the Russians would be pro Mrs Bill and very damned few reasons they might have supported DJT unless they had discerned he was a winner way back in the primary season. After all, Russia/Putin pretty much owned Mrs Bill. They had all that server stuff already and probably all the Podesta et al emails, too. They would have to be pretty lax computer spies over there not to.

Saudi Arabia cannot effect fracking in the United States. We are already doing that here. Arabia may be able to influence i.e. affect fracking here, though.

This is really old news.
They have been at this for years.
What they were unable to do in 2010 isn’t going to happen in 2017.

They certainly have tried.
The big money re fracking apparently was Saudi and Gulf (Quatar was lead on that).
Thats why they more or less openly paid off Al Gore.

The various pipeline protests will also bear some investigation.

Yes, giving the environuts hundreds of millions. Same with Arabs. All the environut organizations were infiltrated by the KGB, who tried to guide them to be as harmful and unreasonable as possible. Kremlin is still using these contacts.
