Scott only missed one additional point. Ryan has been and is still Necer Trump. His failure of leadership and failure to understand the American People now requires him to step down.

It scares me to see how the vast majority thinks that Trump cares what the press says about him or what rinos think of him. Why do people think Trump trusts Ryan who is not only an outspoken never trumper but a guy who pushed his way into the speaker position and pretends he is competent enough to hold that spot

Trump can run circles around Ryan. Why shouldn’t he do so? Trump could not strong arm his way on repealing Obamacare. He’s not going to rule like an obama type dictator and hate the part of the electorate that didn’t vote for him. But he can treat Ryan as the enemy. He doesn’t work for Ryan.

Why do people look at this as a final defeat? Can’t it be a first step in a long process?

If I were Trump I would send tge Hillary loving Ryan on a chase to get something done which he should have been doing but which he had not even thought of doing so he could fail and get himself put into a much less powerful position. That would be just a first step

But people are suing poor Trump. He doesnt understand politics he’ll learn.

People forget Trump runs circles around the press

The impatience is weird to watch. Trump is just starting I would think. This was nothing in the process of getting rid of Obamacare which BTW a lot of people like

I guess people want trump to be their dictator. He’s not going to be.

Trump said the other day “I like rand Paul. I like his smart ideas”. He. Ever said that about Paul Ryan I don’t think.

Pelosi is already calling the Pres a ‘rookie’ president. This theme will probably also prevail. IMO

Good. Let them continue to under estimate Trump. They will continue to lose their marbles (literally and figuratively).

So why would Trump go along with this? I don’t get it. Trump hates losing so how does this fulfill his long game? If we see the same thing with taxes (something Ryan seems to be setting up for) then I know it will be a BIG LOSE for Trump - and us.

So far I see this more of an indictment of Ryan’s leadership than Trump just like it wasn’t Obama who got Obamacare passed, it was Reid and Pelosi and their bag of dirty tricks.

Yeah, The Donald sure as hell was pushing Ryancare hard and sang high praises to Ryan non-stop. I hope this was all a ruse.

Great comment on Scott’s blog:

Every time your premium rose under Obamacare, you saw Obama’s face. Trump didn’t want that. If he knows anything, it’s branding. http://masculineepic.com/index.php/2017/03/07/obamacare-vs-trumpcare/

This healthcare plan was total siht, had nothing that was promised in it, and so he didn’t want to wear the brand like Obama wore the Obamacare brand to his final defeat.

Notice how it quickly went from “Trumpcare” to “Ryancare.” Note also the reports saying Trump wanted to do tax reform first all along. Trump nuked this bill at the end by saying he was done negotiating and he would move on, all but guaranteeing its collapse. He set Ryan up to take the full brunt of the defeat while he walked away with a minor tactical loss. All’s going according to plan.

Adams has been amazingly prescient using his “persuasion theory” in analyzing Trump. He said Trump would win the whole enchilada right after Trump announced. All due to Trump’s mastery of “persuasion”. I viewed his arguments as nonsense but its “nonsense” that seems to “explain” what we see happening over time.

Half of me either doesn’t want to accept and/or believe his arguments, because it doesn’t say much positive for human reasoning!

A vote for Ryancare would have been a vote for Obamacare.

How many times has repeal legislation been passed the last eight years? And now it is impossible? No sale.

No, Adams missed the boat here on what Trump really accomplished. His hands are now completely clean. When Obamacare fails, he can say ‘I tried to fix it, but the democrats and the republicans in the house wouldn’t let me. Blame Ryan and the democrats.

But he managed to avoid blame for the Obamacare failure while not being saddled with responsibility for a plan that was going to be subject to potshotting from both the left and the right.

Brilliant moves on Trump’s part, and Ryan and the Dems fell right into the trap.

IMHO, it is the insurance companies via Ryan who lost bigly. They now have to live through the consequences of Obamacare implosion/explosion.

They’ll be begging for scrapes at the negotiating table soon.

Adams has written a lot of good stuff, I agree. I just think in this case he’s reaching for straws.

So did Trump. But it was only a temporary setback.

Even if there was nothing objectionable in the Ryan bill it would have been a complete waste of time for Trump to get behind it. Its impact would have been so inconsequential that nobody worth his salt would have wanted his name associated with it. Trump doesn't do small, piddling crap. He really wants something much bigger than this.

Health insurance premiums are going to increase dramatically in 2018. They would have increased dramatically under Ryan's bill, too. So Trump's best approach was two-fold: 1 - support something half-assed that he knew wasn't going to pass, so he can at least say he tried; 2 - wait until late 2017 when the 2018 insurance renewal notices go out with massive increases, at which point members of Congress from both parties will be begging for someone to take the lead on a real reform bill to save their own asses in the 2018 midterms.

Trump is playing the long game.

Too many on both sides want instant gratification when it comes to political matters.

Ryan lost. Bigly

Have you listened to the egomaniac? He has no vision for the "replacement" plan, he never articulated the conservative small-gov view, he kept massive profits for insurance companies intact, he spit on conservatives who are the reason the 'pubs have the presidency and substantial majorities everywhere. He never explained why they didn't just resubmit the bill they ALL voted for when they knew Obama would veto it. Another thing I noticed.....he took NO RESPONSIBILITY for the defeat.

He's 100% pure slime. Remember when he was being passed off as a budget genius? The only conclusion I can come up with is the 'pubs are using him as an excuse, a firewall to keep them from having to fullfill their campaign promises.

I'm wondering if Rand Paul isn't a winner in this debacle.

However so far he seems to be on to something with this “persuasion “ just look at what already has happened!

Persuasion is everything, he's making the invisible visible, just be patient.
