This man was the governor of a state, a leading presidential candidate, and Chairman of the Democratic National Committee, and he evidently (and wrongly) believes that the Constitution doesn't protect "hate speech" -- a term of art that is by its very nature subjective. In fact, the Constitution protects nearly all speech, with extremely limited exceptions.
In response to the disgraceful flare-up over Ann Coulter's scheduled appearance at Berkeley, a New York Times writer dug up and highlighted one of her more inflammatory jokes, the proper response to which is: Okay, so what? I don't find it especially funny at all, and I fully understand why someone at the Times would take offense, but it's quite clearly protected speech. But not according to Angry McDeanScream...

Sadly, Howard Dean knows the truth of the matter. He knows that he is spreading disinformation, but, he thinks, because I am doing so in the cause of progressivism, any knowing untruths I speak are moral and good.
In his heart of hearts when he has doubts, he will never acknowledge them to anyone, including himself, because that would negate his entire life and legacy. He will comfort himself that he has done and said everything for the good of “humanity,” even though it has benefited himself enormously.
Dean is not stupid, only self-absorbed and delusional.

my question is who determines what is hate speech and what is not. I no that I have some ideas on what is hate speech that democrats would not agree with. the thing abot ideas and free speech eventually the better idea will win out and that is what people like Howard dean are scared of because they no how much of what they spew out is utter crap.
Los Angeles Times protected Barack Obama’s Islamic terrorists buddies, mentioning they had seen a video tape of him toasting them at a dinner but didn’t feel right releasing it since it was a private affair.
