President Donald Trump on Friday proclaimed May 1 as 'Loyalty Day' as a way to "recognize and reaffirm our allegiance to the principles" upon which America was built and express pride in those ideals, according to a release of the proclamation from the White House.
“The United States stands as the world's leader in upholding the ideals of freedom, equality, and justice. Together, and with these fundamental concepts enshrined in our Constitution, our Nation perseveres in the face of those who would seek to harm it," the proclamation reads.
"We humbly thank our brave service members and veterans who have worn our Nation's uniform from the American Revolution to the present day. Their unwavering loyalty and fidelity has made the world a safer, more free, and more just place. We are inspired by their pride in our country's principles, their devotion to our freedom, and their solemn pledge to protect and defend our Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic."
The proclamation goes on to say that in order to express our country's loyalty to "individual liberties, to limited government, and to the inherent dignity of every human being," May 1 will be known as 'Loyalty Day.'(continued)

Actually (C) the move of calling for loyalty is a move back in the constitutional direction. One cannot have a herd of cats under any kind of meaningful constitution.

Something I realized during the Obama years about congress: They’re as dead as the Roman senate was before Caesar. They don’t want to rule they just want to enjoy the perks and the bribes of being in congress. Trump either needs to empty them and refill them with people who want to rule or rule himself. The Constitution is a frame work for good governance but without quality people trying to rule it doesn’t work.

Obama certainly was a welcome mat for a gaggle of bureaucrats.
This is why we need the “Redneck Revolution.” It doesn’t just chuck Trump over the transom, however auspicious a start this is. It gets the rest of the constitutional apparatus into play.

I know everyone’s giving you a hard time about your stance, but I understand why you are holding your position.
I think it might help everyone to realize that the term ‘wall’ needs to be defined before being bandied about as some kind of magic solution to illegal immigration.
The ‘establishment’ is resisting the building of a physical wall. Big deal. Even if we had a 20’ wall from California to Florida, it wouldn’t stop illegal immigration. Especially since the illegal immigrants are being flown across the border in converted UPS planes and distributed all over the nation.
The wall we have now would do just fine if we had enough Border Patrolmen, and they did their jobs according to the law, and those who got in anyway were chased down and deported. Mexico doesn’t seem to have a problem keeping out illegal immigrants from the US, yet it is the same border they cross. Simply put, their ‘security’ is better. Their ‘enforcement’ of the law is better. They don’t give you money, Food stamps, S.S. cards, cell phones, a driver’s license and a new home if you sneak into Mexico.
We need better ‘security’ and ‘enforcement’. That is where Trump is putting his effort right now, while the Congress and Senate refuse to authorize money for ‘the wall’.
Which is precisely why libs/dems don't like the Constitution.
I fear the problem is not about security alone. Far fewer United States citizens even try to go unpermitted into Mexico than vice versa.
The problem is about expecting Donald to be a diktator. A cheerleader he can be. A diktator, never. And to drag one’s feet in the name of “suspending judgment” is really to strike an unhelpful, passive-aggressive posture.
Is it possible that Trump is a closet ideologue - in the best sense?

The Communists created May Day as an international workers day of celebration. The U.S. countered with “Law Day” and that has been around for many, many years but the communists and their liberal allies don’t believe in the “law” as a whole, only those parts they can use to undermine and destroy America with.
Loyalty Day would really stick it to the red bastards.

I think they like the Constitution a lot. But thanks to liberal judges it only binds us while they’re free to ignore it. That’s what they like about it.

I agree with the point you make here. However, I do not contact my Congress Critters because they all are hardcore leftists who will NOT be persuaded by my calls, or any number of similar ones, to deviate from the ‘rat position on any issue. And I strongly suspect that the call takers are instructed not to bother their bosses with any opposition calls.

Perhaps he should have made it Loyalty WEEK rather than Loyalty Day so as to also overshadow Cinco de Mayo.
