The Murder of Otto Warmbier
US Defense Watch ^ | June 19, 2017 | Ray Starmann

Otto Warmbier died today.

Otto Warmbier was murdered by North Korea and by its brutal regime, led by the despotic maniac Kim Jong-un.

The 23 year old University of Virginia student, who was arrested and imprisoned in North Korea 17 months ago for stealing a poster, had been released by the neo-Stalinist regime last week and flown to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where he passed away today at 2:20 PM after reportedly languishing in a coma for a year.

While preparing to depart North Korea on January 2, 2016, Warmbier was detained after stealing a North Korean propaganda poster off a hotel wall.

On March 16, 2016, Otto Warmbier was sentenced to 15 years of hard labor for committing what he thought was a harmless college prank.

Mr. Warmbier appears to have been in a coma for more than a year, after either being severely beaten to the point it caused irreversible brain damage, or given drugs that induced a heart attack, causing irreversible brain damage, or both.

Last week, when he was released by North Korea, they weren’t doing it for humanitarian reasons – far from it. They turned Otto Warmbier over to US State Department authorities because they didn’t want the young student to die in North Korea. They released their political prisoner Otto Warmbier because they knew they had murdered him and somehow believed their actions would show the civilized world their ‘good will.’ They acted as if they wanted to cleanse their consciences; the only problem being that sociopaths don’t have consciences.

North Korea is incapable of humanitarian actions and its ruler, Kim Jong-un, is a blight on humanity.

While most of the blame for young Otto’s death can be laid at the doorstep of North Korea, some of it can also be laid at the doorstep of the Obama administration and the State Department led by John Kerry. In a nutshell, from the moment Mr. Warmbier was detained, then sentenced and then imprisoned, President Obama and John Kerry did nothing to not only learn about Otto’s whereabouts and condition, but to attempt to garner his release.

The Kerry State Department’s advice to the Warmbiers was to remain silent, as if silence was ever an anecdote to deal with psychotics and evil.

Thankfully, the Trump administration and the Tillerson State Department conduct diplomacy with a sharpened bayonet, rather than Kerry’s Pier One candles and James Taylor sing-a-longs.

Upon learning of Mr. Warmbier’s passing today, the President appeared visibly upset. When asked about options to punish North Korea, the President stated, “It’s a brutal regime and we’ll be able to handle it.”

The options to punish North Korea for the murder of Otto Warmbier are varied, including possible covert military action. Besides completely decapitating the regime in Pyongyang, there is also the course of action that includes sinking a North Korean submarine once it exits its home port. The US would take no responsibility for the operation, but the message would be sent. Kill an American, you lose a submarine. Do it again and the ante goes up threefold.

I believe the President will act and act he must. Yes, there are three other US citizens detained in North Korea. But, US military action cannot be held hostage by any nation. We learned that lesson in 1979.

In the meantime, if you are a religious person, you might want to say a prayer for the soul of Otto Warmbier.

During one of those massive, robotic rallies in Pyongyang, making sure Kim is there, nuke them.

Why don't we take out the USS Pueblo with a Tomahawk missile?

How do you first evacuate the South Korean areas within range of counter attack? Or won’t that be a problem after nuking them or what?

A good straw-that-broke-the-camel’s-back for Trump. The Trump doctrine: Any harm done to any American will result in death. Watch the perps $hit their pants.

Ok. Trump must act. Assembly the armada and demand those 3 be released-or else. When released(or not) attack (anyway). Can it be over in 48 hours? I think so. Next, move that armada towards Iran. Watch them squirm. Russia and China? They’ll do nothing.

How do you disguise that areas within range of attack from North Korea are being evacuated? Because if I was guilty of crimes against humanity like so many in the Army and State of NK there is no way I am not attacking South Korea if I see any odd movement, right? Does any group of people ever give up if they will then be put to death or imprisoned for the rest of their life?

Trump can announce that he holds the fat boy personally responsible. The left won’t take his death seriously enough.

IMHO the us should begin treating NK as a free fire zone and pick them apart using them as a test bed for new weapons.

Although it is a tragic event it must be remembered that Otto went to North Korea and though a childish prank would be overlooked. It does happen in many countries. Otto caused his own death because he thought he could get away with something. Sad as it is it was not this nations problem but one that he created by thinking he was above the laws of a land of brutal tactics. Life is cheap in countries like North Korea. Let this be a lesson to those who travel to countries that are ruled with an iron fist. Obey and respect when you are a guest otherwise don’t go. This is the second person I know of that has died at the hands of the Kim family. The other I personally knew. He had grandiose ideas before he went. I warned him that his ideas would send him home in a box. It did many years ago and almost caused a outbreak of hostilities. Our children make stupid decisions and they do have consequences. Even though I feel sadness for the parents they should have done a better job of raising their son.

"Trip to North Korea Fred Warmbier stated that his son Otto was traveling in China at the end of 2015 when he saw a company offering trips to North Korea. He decided to go because he was adventurous, according to his father, who accused the tour operator of specifically targeting young Westerners with slogans like, "This is the trip your parents don't want you to take!" Fred Warmbier said the China-based tour operator, Young Pioneer Tours, advertised the trip as safe for U.S. citizens.[2]

Warmbier traveled to North Korea for a five-day New Year's tour of the country organized by Young Pioneer Tours. Ten other U.S. citizens were in his tour group.[3][17][18][19][20] During his stay at the Yanggakdo International Hotel in Pyongyang, Warmbier allegedly stole a propaganda sign from a staff-only floor of the hotel.[21] The poster said, "Let's arm ourselves strongly with Kim Jong-il's patriotism!". Harming such items with the name or image of a North Korean leader is considered a serious crime by the government.[22]"

WTF was he doing in China? What possessed him to take a side trip to NK? Seems like there was a group a while back that thought they should go hiking in Iran. Weren't they also U. VA. students?

Someone has to say it: WTF was this guy really doing in NK in the first place, and why was he stupid enough to steal something from his hotel?

Nice guy, everyone loved him, local here to me in Cincinnati, great family, life cut short, some much promise, etc.

A Holiday in NK? Was he nuts? I think it is far more likely that he was a CIA spy than that he was “taking a little Holiday” related to a five day trip to China. And, who takes a 5 day trip to China other than a business person or government liaison? 5 days? Including NK? I’m not buying it.

When rogue nations think they can snatch our citizens on fake charges and use them as political pawns to get concessions (a practice that became standard operating procedure under Bill Clinton) it's time to take a stand. North Korea and Iran have both been doing this stuff.

In the ancient world nobody ever messed with a roman citizen because if you did you knew you could count on a roman legion hunting you down, wherever you went. For instance Julius Caesar was captured by pirates when he was a young man and held for ransom. When the ransom was paid and Caesar was released he hunted down every one of the pirates and crucified them. That's just how they rolled. And rulers all over the western world knew that unless they wanted war, don't mess with Romans.

But that was a different time. I'm not suggesting that we go to war over a single citizen. But I am suggesting that we follow a strict policy of no concessions, no ransoms, and swift harsh consequences. Seizing assets, freezing imports/exports, expelling their citizens, etc. Make it very painful with no benefits if you play this game. And then it would stop.

You ask all the questions I have been wondering about. This story stinks to high heaven. Warmbier thought he could sell the poster to someone who put him up to it because his “family needed the money.” Yeah, right - UVA trains the future generation of numbnuts for deep state jobs. NKA provides the lobotomies.
