Does CNN have any professionals that can write a basic article? I learned more at DINFOS than this girl did in years of college.

The crew to get the job done: the United States Space Corps. I suggest that we not try to tackle this one on our own. I think it should be a joint effort with at least one other nation. They could call it the Joint Extraterrestial Defense Initiative. Important decisions could be made by a council. I think that with a JEDI Council we would see a new beginning to our space program.

Oh woe is me! Born too late...
I would be beating on the door to join the US Space Corps.

I’m all in favor of this, as long as we build a Death Star.

it’s a ruse. trump is going to create this mysterious service as an excuse to shoot democrats into space.

Given our state of technology this is ludicrous.
You form a navy when you have ships. You don’t form a navy when you have canoes or the idea of ships.
It’s a black hole for money

As an avid scifi reader I believe that the space corps is a natural projection from the Navy, not the AF.
Basically it would be taking a ship (e.g., destroyer, carrier, etc) and putting it in space.
If you have a spaced based carrier why would a water based carrier be needed?
If we were just talking Fighters I could see the AF’s leadership, however foreseeable technology will not have single or 2 manned fighters doing a patrol around Saturn.
To: laxcoach
We have a higher level of technology than we’re being told about. Much higher.
