...why hell, we dont know who hes going to vote for. Being Boston Irish I can guarantee you he would have voted Rat.

I know more residents of Derry that have been sent back from the US than any Muslims I’ve ever met.

I feel bad for the guy, but the law is the law, and zero tolerance is zero tolerance.
The message must never waver.

How about illegal means illegal? To give any race preference in deportations would be seen, rightly, as racist. He should’ve immigrated here the right way. I have absolutely no sympathy for him.

If this dude had found someone to marry (it being Massachusetts, female or male), and handled things slightly differently, he could have had a different outcome.

Well, the law is the law. It must be applied fairly and equally across the board to be effective. I’d take an Irishman over most of these so-called ‘refugees’ any day of the week, for many reasons (cultural not the least of which), but he has to get in line like everyone else.

With all those points you cite, why did he not do things the right, legal way?

Uhm, they were here ILLEGALLY. Which is breaking the law. Derp. Can you give a colloquial translation of "Derp"? I have a feeling that I'd like to use it, if only to annoy my teenagers, but I need to have a better idea of where it fits.

Back you go, dude, to the back of the line like everyone else. Just like WE did.......and forked out allotta dough and jumped through the hoops!

If you fall ill in Haiti, any country of Africa, Asia, heck anywhere, and you can find your way to an airport onto an airplane to Boston, you can go directly from the plane to an ambulance, to a Boston hospital, get admitted, spend days, weeks, or even longer in an ICU, at no cost to you.
It happens every single day, and Americans are paying for these people who come here from countries which have socialized health care or nationalized medicine.
There are hundreds, thousands even, of Irish who have no legal right to be here. Our immigrant management system is such a disaster that effectively it is nonexistent.

I have no sympathy for him either
My point is that it should be easier for a European with useful skills to immigrate here than a Arab with no skills claiming to be a refugee.
A Irish electrician should get in before Pakistani panhandler.
If it was easier for an Irish electrician to get in to the US than a Pakistani panhandler we would not have quite so many gay bar shootings.
