Even odder, in Northern Hemisphere summer when the sun is farther from the earth, the sun’s disc is just enough smaller than the moon’s to make for a total eclipse. Eclipses in winter, when the sun is closer, tend to be annular, i.e. a ring of sunlight surrounds the sun. Of course the moon’s distance to earth varies as well and that too has an effect.

I think it’s a good example of when a gigantic mass can seem to be completely lost to a much smaller mass. The parallel for me today was that good people are a much larger and ever present mass even when they appear to be completely overtaken and blacked by the smaller mass of idiots.

The left controls the media, hollywood, schools, universities, and most of the legal profession, yet conservatives still win elections. If people are spoon fed their message for 14-18 years of their lives and still come out voting against them, it’s pretty clear there’s something wrong with their logic. So take heart. Skies may be dark for a short while, but the light always wins... it’s a way bigger mass of people.
