Delingpole: Trump Appoints Conservative Ex-Navy Flier to Run NASA; Liberal Heads Explode

The next head of NASA is likely to be an ex-Navy fighter pilot turned Republican congressman who believes strongly in space exploration but is skeptical about man-made climate change.

What’s not to like about about Trump’s nomination of Rep. Jim Bridenstine (R-Oklahoma) for the job of NASA’s administrator?

Everything, if you’re a liberal.

According to New York Daily News columnist Linda Stasi, Trump just blew the perfect chance to change his “presidency from the chaotic mess of threats, bitterness and bilious paranoia to one of rationality and reasonableness.”

Apparently, the job should have gone to a fully-fledged climate alarmist.

But, but, but......what about the moose limb outreach? What about climate change research? How about actually doing the job of flying people to space and back. Been 6+ years since the shuttle final mission and still waiting. Will elon's bucks get slashed? Bezos? No doubt there are some lib heads in the upper echelons of NASA that ain't real happy about now. TOO bad!

“Apparently, the job should have gone to a fully-fledged climate alarmist.”

Thanks for posting. I couldn’t understand why the Dems were so mad about him...considering that NASA, when it comes to space exploration, has been about as non-political as one could ever hope for, as I cannot think of a single president who seriously wanted to ‘transform’ NASA in that area (I ignore the Muslim stuff, it’s just silly).

But GLOBAL WARMING is a whole new area - the Left needs people at NASA to continue their agenda, and that is what they fear.

Large Canadian herbivores are irrelevant to space travel.
Climate change is irrelevant to space travel.
Elon is actually contributing a great deal to space travel.
Bezos is also actually contributing to space travel.
Upper echelons of NASA need to remember that the point of NASA is space travel.

Dragging Muslim affirmative action/outreach into NASA was one of the most audacious things Obama did, although there were a lot of them.
Like he was daring someone to say, “No, this is ridiculous.”
Yes, Americans were just clamoring for astronauts in hajibs, and a Koran on the space station. What, no?

I remember the campaign when he was running for Congress.

He ran an local Aerospace museum for a while. During the campaign the Democrat tried bashing him by saying that the museum never made a profit in the years Bridenstein managed it. Of course they out the fact that it was a Non-Profit organization.

Having to hitchhike with the Russians...who, by the way, are allowed to haul religious iconography up with them.

Notice the subtle new narrative started by DiFi and now carried on by the media that the president has an opportunity to “change” the direction of his presidency to something they can accept. It all tells me he’s hitting paydirt against these people, and his administration is being effective. Did they ever say to President Obama that things needed to “change” ever during his eight years? Desperation!

Actually, Bridenstine was an E-2C Hawkeye pilot who was able to get a few hops in the Hornet.

“...Of course they (sic) out the fact that it was a Non-Profit organization.”

How about?:

“...Of course they out left the fact that it was a Non-Profit organization.”

You left out “left”.

(Maybe the left should be left out. -sarc)

So wouldn’t one expect a Democrat President to appoint “Democrats” to heads of agencies?

According to New York Daily News columnist Linda Stasi...

That would be "newly unemployed, ex-columnist Linda Stasi". The News was sold today. For a buck.
