BAD COPS AND THE BLUE CODE OF SILENCE

Posted on 09/24/2017 9:53:37 AM PDT by DIRTYSECRET

My friends they're out there. If you don't think so just look at what's happening in the NFL. I've had my own encounters with asshole cops and seen them operate on others. Rodney King, the waste of human skin did not need 52 swings with a nightstick. It's time the rest of you acknowledge something needs to be done. 2-5% of the cops out there should have their badges taken away. Of the others most don't make it to 20 years-probably the good ones. I say identify who they are and allow their victims to accuse them. Chiefs of Police take note. You may need another line of work also.

When did you join the communist party?

How did you pledge your allegiance to Obama?

I guess you can’t help thinking like that.

It’s all you know.

Choose life. You can be free.

Thin Skinned much? Ad hominem does not become You. It is evident You have had run-ins with the Law. I did half a Nickel in 2010, and the POLICE NEVER BOTHER ME NOW.

“The list goes on.”

It certainly does and I’ll be looking forward to your list of things where cops helped people.

colordan: You appear to be the most open one on this post. The fact is these things are happening and too many people here refuse to acknowledge it. Throw in the cost of defense lawyer and you are getting screwed for minding your own business.

Cops help people because it’s their job.

Your use of Rodney King showed you know nothing on this topic.

I absolutely have no use use for police. The last time and only time I could have used their assistance, they chose instead to ignore the law and side with their own kind. No thanks.

Give young people power, especially the power of deciding life and death, or freedom, they may not always know to exercise it properly.

Young people can be intelligent, but they cannot be wise.

Most states allow people at 21 to become cops, some states it used to be 19. 19...think about that.

In an ideal world I would not consider a police officer for employment unless they were 25 and finished a bachelors degree.

Also please consider this DS. Not all police agencies train the same. Some train officers to be very non-confrontational on things like traffic stops, and others just let the cops do pretty much whatever, as long as it does not violate laws and civil rights. There is no law stating that an officer has to be cordial, pleasant or even professional.

Agencies that do not demand degrees have higher instances of use of force, both justified and not, higher levels of complaints, and less commitment to community oriented policing.

National standards would be helpful, but again that most likely put a financial burden on states and agencies and would not be adopted.

Let me just say as a patriot, a veteran, a retired police officer, and a Freeper: You are an ignorant son of a bitch.

What did you do while I was risking my life for God, Country, community, and family- sell insurance?

I’ve been around a long time, as has my wife, brothers, sisters, relatives, and so on. None of us, to a person, has experienced any of the maladies you mention. Go live your life & be respectful to police officers. You’ll be fine.

To the copper: What DID YOU do when your one or 2 buddies made you this way? Perhaps you are one of them. What have I done? I lived my life in a way that avoids people like you. Can’t say that it always worked. You are still needed. Hope you took enough vacations.

I am addressing using problems with police as a leftist political vehicle, which is what the BLM and supporters are doing.

Posts like this are common cause with the leftists.

Asset forfeiture, wrong-address no-knock raids, deaf people who can’t hear spoken commands. Seizure of surveillance tapes from stores in which suspects were beaten to death by officers under questionable circumstances. “Accidental” erasure of tapes in which suspects died in police custody. Multiple officers standing around, doing nothing, when one officer assaults and kidnaps the chief nurse at a hospital who was following medical privacy laws (i.e., who refused to bread privacy laws). The list goes on.

Your list jumps all over the place. Concerning asset forfeiture, Congress takes the blame not police officers. They only take the cake that is given them.

Wrong-address no-knock raids, deaf people who can’t hear spoken commands is incompetence or poor training, not corruption.

Seizure of surveillance tapes from stores in which suspects were beaten to death by officers under questionable circumstances. “Accidental” erasure of tapes in which suspects died in police custody does not seem to be an epidemic. Plus, the way you find out about it is when it is brought to light, which means nobody got away with it.

I despise the fact that police departments across the country have become so paramilitary but the fault lies with the misguided "War on Drugs" or "War on Crime" politicians that come up with the programs and policies. The individual patrolmen and troopers are not the enemy of our citizens.

The best warning I ever got was when the cop pulled me over for speeding very late one night. I was going about 70 or 75. He said, “do you know what the speed limit is?” I sad, “no” He said ‘55”. He then asked “do you know how fast you were going” I said, “faster than that.” I guess he got a chuckle out of my honesty and candor and just gave me a warning.

Good post. I understand where you are coming from. Lots of recent documented police abuses. Just because BLM is usually wrong does not mean the police are blameless. Your 5% estimate of police who should not have a badge is spot on.

Also would like to compliment the 10 to 20% of police who are true, honest, peace officers.

Sorry for the abuse you are taking. The guys who are giving you a hard time are the same guys who love the FBI abusive SWAT raid on Manafort’s family.

Cops love honesty. Because they get so little of it from the “Dindu nuffin” crowd. I get off with a warning almost every time when I am pulled over just by being polite and admitting I might have been going a bit fast. You also score points by immediately putting your flashers on (once you are lit up), pulling off the road in a safe place and putting your dome light on if it is dark outside.

On this topic I can hide behind my keyboard-a bit cowardly. In the field the copper can hide behind his badge.
