I don’t know the first thing about guns so I can’t really distinguish the different sounds. I can’t think of a reason the cops would want to lie about how many shooters there were.
I am very curious about the alleged helicopters though.

It just so happens that some dude with a bunch of similar weapons with bump stocks and 900 rounds of ammo was arrested in Tennessee the day after Mandalay according to local news there. They did a search on his residence and found a bunch more stuff and evacuated 8 surrounding houses while doing so. Apparently explosives.
Funny it didn't make national news. Some sources say this guy was in Vegas on Sept. 26 or 27th, and had met with Paddock. And of course, the weapons weren't registered and nor did they have any serial numbers. Just your typical hunting enthusiast.

One of the recent eyewitness accounts claimed somebody in the concert crowd dropped a row of firecrackers about 10 seconds before the shooting began, which she witnessed and was upset that somebody would light off firecrackers that close to people.
Moments later, the first gunshots rang out.
When the gunshots rang out, people naturally ducked recognizing the supersonic shots overhead, while some in the crowd shotted profanities and exclaimed they were just fireworks.
Then the auto fire came in and people began to fall.
Regarding the availability of sound mikes, ALL of the speaker systems have built in sound testing equipment which may have continuously recorded information and archived it if the sounds monitored exceeded the production thresholds.
FWIW, it’s interesting to observe what actions would have to be taken by the sound engineers for the speakers (sound production) to continue to generate if those monitoring systems were operating normally, to shut down automatically if they monitored a transducer failing (i.e. noise of a bullet or rifle report).
There has been a void of newsmedia from sound engineers.
They are naturally all over the industries closest to these events. The Concert, the newsmedia, the reporters,...etc not to mention the forensice analysts who should be all over this investigation.
The LAST thing the FBI should want would be to erase cell phone recordings of the event. That is a professional smoking gun IMHO.

FWIW, In the world of Smart devices, there are a multitude of devices recording all these events, which even the most skilled professionals usually omit.
Let's take a simple one.
HVAC systems. In most high rises and especially hotels, it isn't uncommon for the individual rooms to have thermostats, but they are usually on a network with numerous controls monitoring the systems.
For example, even if not reported, each room likely has three sensors: A door sensor, a thermocouple, and a motion detector.
The door sensor (door alarm) will likely detect when a person enters or leaves the room. This will set a conditional to monitor the motion detector. If no motion after a time counter elapses, then the HVAC system doesn't have to maintain the cool conditions for the vacant space.
When the door is opened again, the HVAC turns on and brings the room back to fine tuned conditions. Saves lots of money in energy costs and there is a litany of other programming for hotels to save energy costs. Count on that to be implemented in someplace like Mandalay Bay.
These systems typically are monitored over modems from each floor and at least each bldg for contracted HVAC maintenance. If somebody can access those codes, they can monitor who is coming in and out of every room in the building.
Cameras aren't necessary, but then again, if everybody has a cell phone, who needs cameras? Just scan who enters and exits the doorways and then activate their cellphone microphones/cameras, even for just a few shots. All IEEE 802.11 compliant.
Where are these reports being provided to the public? It isn't as though the younger generation isn't more in tune with this than we are....
BTW, in all the timelines, I haven’t seen anything tracking the time to open the windows.
Note these are not operable windows. The had to be opened with a hammer and glass removed.
If the glass fell, then that would begin their timeclock on being exposed or their intentions made public.
It probably would take 2min-30 min to open up those windows without the glass falling and exposing their position.
On the other hand, if actions occurred exposing their position, then it still might take several minutes to clear out the glass window, in total disregard of the glass falling below. Glass windows falling 30+ floors would attract attention.
Brings up another issue.
Did the taxi cab recording have any recording of the glass windows falling nearby the cab on the roof?
I heard that Mandalay even has sensors to monitor for broken windows.
They sure have some splainin to do.
What I don’t understand is how you can have a second shooter with all those cameras everywhere. A Vegas strip casino hotel is one of the most heavily surveilled places on the planet. The have more cameras per sq ft than the NSA or the Pentagon.
The last time I was there, every guest hallway and elevator had an HD camera. I’m not sure about the stairwells but they probably have them too. And even if not, the HD camera aimed down the 32nd floor hallway would have spotted anyone exiting the suite for the stairwell. A second camera would have spotted the perp leaving the stairwell on another floor. Ditto the service elevator. (The parking lots have them too.)
Those cameras write to forensically secure HDDs with timecodes for use in defending lawsuits (like the one Paddock tried when he fell in 2014) and in prosecuting cheaters/thefts. They keep that footage for a long time,
So unless the second shooter somehow rappelled down the side of the building like Tom Cruise, there is just no way there can be a second shooter inside that suite (yes, it was a double suite, but both doors would have been visible looking down the hallway).
This is like a Sherlock Holmes locked-room mystery, but with 21st century cameras instead of locks.
That isn't a problem in this video. If you go back to 15:15 you can hear original shots from the AR-15/M-16. the echo's you can clearly make out right after the round stops firing. The strikes are not near this location meaning I don't hear any strikes.
At 15:50 to 15:54 that is clearly a belt fed weapon firing.
22:32 then again 22:38 you can hear these belt fed weapon firing new rounds with a very faint echo. There is no striking sound from it. Then at 22:40 you hear the AR-15 again I couldn't make out an echo or where it strikes.
This video you can watch all the video's mixed where which they're all linked by time. You would have to know each one of these video's to know which one is firing. But this video you can hear what are fresh rounds and what are echos.

Hillary’s snide remark about, ‘imagine if they had used a silencer’, always bugged me. More of a spiritual intuition,...something about her comment oozes with a precognizant notion of events.
FWIW, there are a handful of eyewitness reports indicating there were multiple false leads to the event, such as firecrackers in the concert floor, helicopters with strobes, hotel rooms with strobes, the shooter’s room without apparent muzzle flashes, eyewitnesses who believed they were being tracked and fired upon even after running several blocks out of the area, recorded shot counts, for the 10 min period, which only account for less than 100 rounds being fired.
FWIW, I would expect for a shooter, from 32 floors up, even with a 300m range, using plunging fire without good weapon control, firing into a crowd, to only have between 1-5 out of 10 rounds hit targets. Sound recordings only account for less than 1000 rounds being fired, and some are reportedly aimed at the airport fuel tanks, other facilities in the area, but with 59 deaths and 500+ casualties.
Eyewitness reports also indicate other establishments having similar mass terror escapes from gunfire.
From what we’re seen, the casualties seem to be the result of 2-20 times amount of firepower being reported from the 32nd floor.
What has been done to sweep the entire area around the Mandalay Bay for shell casings?
They certainly don't think the destruction of evidence laws apply to them.
Okay, I just checked and the Mandalay doesn’t have cameras in the guest halls. (They do at Caesars.)
Well, that sucks.
There is the potential here to totally bring down the FBI, or at least the criminal elements in it. God works in mysterious ways.
