Former Campaign manager to the Trump team, Paul Manafort has turned himself into the authorities after the long-awaited charges were finally filed on Friday. It is not our place to judge his guilt, but we can ask one question…What has this got to do with Donald Trump and the Russian conspiracy?
Back in the summer, the media had a frenzy about the FBI raiding Manafort’s home searching for evidence of money laundering from his days as a Ukraine spin master and lobbyist. According to the filed charges (you can read them here), they’ve found it. But not one of the charges mentions a single word about Donald trump, his campaign team, his presidential bid, or in fact anything whatsoever that you would expect from an investigation into the aforementioned!

Short answer? NOTHING
How much $$ to indict manafort on charges Mueller and the FBI were aware of when he was FBI director? Could have had this indictment for free years ago.
Directly? Nothing. But they may offer Manafort a deal in exchange for information on the campaign.
If any of the indictment is based on wiretap data then this may get thrown out. The wiretap was based on the Fusion GPS’ Trump Dossier which was paid for by the DNC and known to be largely speculative and sensational.

It has nothing to do.
It is all about threatening this guy and use this as a way to come up with fake BS on Trump or else...you fry.
When will Podesta be indicted?
This has nothing to do with collusion. But it does have something to do with Russia, through the Ukraine. And Mueller can investigate anything that includes the word “Russia”.
How did he know to go after Manafort for money laundering and not registering as a foreign lobbyist. And whose money did he launder?

Mueller was FBI director when all of these *gasp* "money laundering" was going down. But he didn't do anything about it then. Why not?
Maybe he could plead "I don't remember, it was so long ago" when the new "Spacial Counsel to Investigate the Special Counsel" is appointed.

But someone had to be caught or the whole investigation would be seen as futile, fraudulent, a politically motivated witch hunt.

After this laughable witch hunt, Trump needs to focus ALL guns on Mueller, Clinton, Podesta, and the Swamp. Put them in the “Nooses” that Hillary Clinton interestingly fears so much...
Whatever ties Manafort has that led to this list of charges, is much more likely to be part of his association with the John Podesta rat’s nest. And it was not Russia, but the Ukraine.
It may actually be nothing but it’s something that gives validity to the wild stories the MSM have been spinning.
Trump better go on the offense and fast.

Exactly. Mueller is “squeezing” Manafort. “Mr. Manafort, we’d hate to see you locked away for life for these serious crimes. You would become bankrupt fighting the charges and still go to prison, rarely seeing your family. However, give us some information relating to Trump and Russians and this all could turn into a minor slap on the wrist.”
It has everything to do with slapping down Trump and making great headlines.

This gives the media plenty of opportunity to talk about Manafort being indicted for fronting for the Ukranians while failing to mention that these actions occurred long before he was associated with the Trump campaign.
Instead, the talking points will be that the indictment came out of the Mueller probe of a Russian connection to the Trump campaign.
