She is the only reason I even watch the daily press briefings these days. Used to watch them...well not during last regime.

When I looked at the Thanksgiving photos, the crust looked too perfect. But these close-ups show how she crimps with the side of a tine! I may copy her technique this Christmas!
April Ryan's mother and grandmother must not have known how to make pies. Or she would have known what she was looking at.
I had aunts that baked the pecan pies, at Christmas.
One did the chopped pieces and one did chopped, with the pretty, whole pecans, on top.
For some reason, I always preferred the one that had only the chopped.
I guess it’s just a matter of personal preference.

I thought it was very impressive. I also make from scratch pie crust. Whole family loves it. I dampen rim with water before applying top crust and seal with a fork. Other times I seal top crust with 2 index fingers.
Results are the same, just not the appearance.
Looks like she knows how to make a deeeeeelicious pecan pie!

Yes, her pecan pies do look great.
My wife makes the pecan pies. I make the apple, cherry, pear, pumpkin. I make all the crusts.
