The New Boss is Just the Same as the Old Boss? Trump Signs Monster Spending Bill

Pelosi and Schumer declared victory on Friday following President Trump’s fake veto, i.e. after The Donald signed a monster spending bill which blows the budget into oblivion. However, Trump promised  this will never happen again after signing the 1.3 trillion dollars omnibus spending bill that was passed by the Republican dominated Congress. The omnibus bill does not address the border wall nor immigration issues. Trump complained that the Congress “created a series of documents that nobody was able to read”, hinting at the 2000+ pages of documents passed by the legislature, with lawmakers having less than 36 hours to read it. Needless to say, Democrats were celebrating on Friday at the news that Trump will sign the omnibus bill, as the POTUS initially announced he may veto the spending bill, yet he changed his mind and signed it after all, despite “being unhappy about it”, to quote the President’s own words.

President Trump, due to your capitulation to all that we have worked so hard to oppose, many of your strongest supporters can look forward to our lives ending in FEMA CAMPS.

Thanks so much for feeding the monster....!

Don’t buy it.
A veto would have given time to examine the bill.
Some GOP Senators would have run for the tall grass
once they were exposed by the examination of the bill.
Thus reducing the likelihood of an over-ride.

“If Trump loses his base, he’s finished.”

No. You are.

You guys can stop acting like you exist in some bubble where you can toss elections and be immune to what some Democrat has in store for you.

Far too many on this side keep acting like if they dont get 100%, 100% of the time, that you have some fricking excuses to bring in Obama III.

“He might have just lost his base.”

Yeah, ok. This line of BS again. What you describe are a bunch of flakes, not a base.

This will cost him an impeachment.

The Republicans will lose the House in 2018.

The Democrat controlled House will impeach President Trump.

Cruz would not have signed this bill

Cruz would never have had the chance because there’s not a snowball’s chance in hell he could ever have won.

"The New Boss is Just the Same as the Old Boss? Trump Signs Monster Spending Bill"
FR: Never Accept the Premise of Your Opponent’s Argument

"Donald is a great negotiator. He went for the best bill he could get. What would it have been under bammy? secret money for his best buddies the muzzies?"

I agree 100%.

Lawless Obama signed pricy, vote-buying domestic spending bills that low-information voters had no clue that the corrupt, post-17th Amendment ratification Congress could not justify under its constitutional, Article I, Section 8-limited powers.

"Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States."—Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.

But as Pres. Trump pointed out at the 1 PM WH press release concerning the bill, the lion’s share of the bill’s spending is for military purposes (a campaign promise), reasonably justified under Congress's Section 8-limited powers.

And when was the last time that a major federal spending bill was so justifiable under Section 8?

Taking Trump to task for what is an obvious major setback is not tossing an election. Every one of his supporters needs to take a hard look at what happened here and not engage in denial.

Politicians work for us, not vice versa. When they fail they need to hear it form their supporters. Congressional Rs who voted for this monstrosity should be primaried. Likewise, if Trump can’t do the job, we primary him.

This has nothing to do with supporting Dems. It is about making our party better.

“Dems totally ignore the fact that they got nothing on DACA ....and if they think he’s gonna offer citizenship again...I gotta bridge.....”

Dems don’t want it. They want to run saying racist Republicans stopped it.

BTW, you did note the bill pass with build in veto override majorities?

Vetoing it would of not stopped it.
