I had the WORST time trying to find food that didn’t revolt me in England.

There's a McDonald's on the Strand! At least there used to be. The restored Globe Theatre is on Bankside, near the Tate Modern museum, and there are a lot of affordable restaurants there on the south bank of the Thames. Also, if you can find restaurants operated by ethnic Italians or Chinese, that food will taste good.

I went to the Ritz for high tea, but was not impressed.

The British Museum is not to be missed. It is like a world culture tour.

If you like authentic English or Scottish tartan items like mufflers, flat caps, kilts and throws, and little heraldry items like your British family crest on mugs and coasters, etc. there is "Highland Store on Portobello Road near the British Museum. My first tartan mufflier lasted 30 years and would have lasted more, except I lost it. My family has been passing down a Harris Tweed coat that was purchased in 1935, and still looks great.

In the theatre district, if you like opera, this restaurant on Drury Lane was decadently awesome and the food was good:

Sarastro
It has playfully soft porn paintings in the toilets, so don't take the kids.

I think he rubbed management the wrong way with some of his stances.

He amazed me by his highly opinionated and utterly misinformed views of America. People from Europe often simply can't picture the size and scale of this country. Even China and Russia, with roughly equal land mass, have vast undeveloped areas, but our country is very intraconnected and developed.

We got a doctor’s note on his letterhead for a child’s inhaler, but that was long ago.

Vintage dolls, puppets, toy figures
Dolls houses from the 1700s
Teddy bears
Vehicles
Construction toys
Indoor beach (large sand pit)

Under 3s soft play area
Dressing up clothes
Rolls Royce pedal car
Rocking horses you can ride
Touch screens to show even more toys
Robbie the Robot: wind him up and he comes alive
Model railway (20p coin needed to operate)
Magnetic iron filings 'painting' table
Sensory pod: textures, lights, etc.
Craft corner

Also, if you are in the money and want to hang out where the celebrities do, try to get a reservation to the Chiltern Firehouse restaurant in Marylebone.

DO NOT MISS Borough Market for fascinating food booths

Seconded! I used to work in an office right next to Borough Market in the early 2000s. Lunchtimes were a fantastic adventure, just wandering around and sampling things before deciding what to eat.
