Wife watched it. I didn’t. She said it was just a rehash of DALLAS, the series, in Wyoming.

I’ll take reruns of radio’s Fort Laramie starring Raymond Burr as hardnose captain Lee Quince of Calvary.

I know what Burr was in real life but it’s still good stuff to listen to. Perry Mason is still better than a lot of what’s on now.

What tv station is it on?

The Paramount Network.

Since Costner, in effect, has come out against Trump, I no longer watch anything he is in.

I wrestle with this all the time. I sometimes find myself disgusted with the actor but sometimes respect their skills as an actor. That's why I mentioned wishing actors would simply keep their big mouths shut about politics. Sometimes they are just too disgusting to look past; like Robert de Niro.

I thought this looked interesting. Asked husband what he thought....he said co-workers said it was a Dallas wannabe. Haven’t watched it yet, but the ‘fracking troubles’ bit makes me very suspicious. There have been NO INSTANCES where fracking caused problems. Period. Maybe just give this a pass.

I understand.

I have just gotten to the point where I will not tolerate it anymore, no matter how small the infraction.

If these actors cannot respect their customers, me, then I will not spend a dime supporting them.

I used to love some of Costner’s work, especially Open Range.

But once you take sides with the enemy, and mark my words, those fighting our President are your enemy, then all bets are off with me.

Costner has the market on pretentious completely cornered. He has been unwatchable for the last 20 years.

Well, he is good in movies where it does not take a lot of acting skill, like Open Range. In effect, where the story-line is so good, you forget the wooden acting of Costner.

I’ll stick with Fresno the mini-series that made fun of Dallas and related shows.

Was it ancient Rome that forbid actors from political discourse as well as voting?

The funny thing is this fracking thing was mentioned in the synoptsis but I didn’t see anything in the 1.5 hour series premiere about it which is 2 hours on regular tv with commercials.

The calving scene was bad but the real kicker was the wild stallion. He was loaded in trailer, haltered with a lead rope, freshly trimmed hoofs, and backed right out of the trailer...

Owning 30 horses myself, they seemed to skip over quite a few steps in between each of these actions...

Other than that, we are enjoying the show. I am a bit surprised how they throw out an “f-bomb” in every scene, and the sex scene also caught us of guard. Someone at the network decided to push the limits of what they can do on broadcast cable programming. Even shows like Sons of Anarchy and Queen of the South haven’t gone that far.

Not a Cosner fan, but I did watch Ep 1.

Potential.

It reminded me of the Blood & Oil/Boomtown TV soap series from a few years ago. That series didn’t last long. It also is similar to Longmire.

I will watch until it takes a drastic left turn.

I did chuckle when the errant son’s young son picked up the rifle and asked ‘Is this for me?’ I noticed the scene quickly shifted without a reply.

Yeah. I have seen a few 'fresh' calves. They take a few minutes before they get up. That one in the scene was half grown and dry.

If you do a search on “fracking pollutes ground water”, you never see this month old article. You have to put fracking does not pollute ground water to see these. No liberal will EVER search for those words.

https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/op-eds/not-really-a-surprise-science-again-shows-that-fracking-doesnt-pollute-groundwater

You do see LOTS of articles from 2015, etc. that says it is a given and there is proof of contamination.

That show is on the Paramount Network and since I cut the cord I can’t get it. After reading the premise and such I pass even if I could see it. Costner just isn’t interesting any more and too Left for me now. Although I saw his film on TV “Draft Day” and thought it okay.

Yeah, WHAT are they talking about? I saw nothing about “fracking” in the 2hr show.

I thought the show was EXCELLENT!

Exactly like “life in Montana”, I doubt it, I live in NYS so I wouldn’t know.

It is not a “remake” of anything. Sure, you can see Dallas in this or Bonanza. They do wear cowboy hats.

Other similarities to shows of this type, sure. There is nothing NEW under the sun.

I had low expectations for this show, yet was pleasantly surprised. Sure it’s not “reality”, it’s a TV SHOW!

My wife, surprisingly, liked it very much as well. We are both looking forward to the rest of the season.

Nothing novel or intriguing in the storyline, no compelling dialogue, none of the main characters is admirable or heroic, and the most interesting character was killed off in the first episode.

“Other than that, we are enjoying the show. I am a bit surprised how they throw out an “f-bomb” in every scene, and the sex scene also caught us of guard.....”

I somewhat agree. I find these things completely unnecessary.

BUT, I must say the “F” bombs were more relevant than in most shows/movies and they are not in every scene. A few scenes.

The sex scenes were within bounds, IMHO. The one with the daughter was pretty risque, but didn’t cross the line it ran right up to. The one with the youngest son and his female Indian wife was tame by comparison.

There is adult language and what many would call vulgarity, but it is rated “M” for “Mature” for a reason.

Snowflakes should refrain from watching “M” rated shows to prevent being triggered.

REAL people have sex, use rude/crude language, and use the “F” bomb with regularity.

A fairytale it’s not. Hint, fairytales don’t come with an “M” rating.

I’m not prudish just pointing out the fact they seemed to be pushing the envelope more so than other shows lately.
