With respect to John H. Schnatter," the board of directors at Papa Johns says Papa John Schnatter will no longer have a work space at the company headquarters in the wake of his latest controversy.
On Sunday, Papa Johns International, Inc. issued a press release stating that the company will be terminating a sublease agreement with Schnatter, which had allowed him the use of office space within the building.
The decision came following the boards previous actions toward terminating Schnatters founders agreement, and removing his likeness from marketing materials after he admitted to using the N-word during a conference call in May 2018.
Since Mr. Schnatter no longer has an active role with the management of companys business, the special committee [of the board of directors] also approved and directed the company to terminate a sublease agreement granting Mr. Schnatter the right to use certain office space at the companys corporate headquarters in Louisville, Kentucky, the press release reads.
Papa Johns International says it has further asked Schnatter to refrain from speaking to the media about the pizza chain. The company will also oversee an investigation related to diversity and inclusion.
Schnatters latest controversy began on July 11, when Forbes reported of Schnatters use of the racial slur during a May conference call with a marketing firm....

What a great American story -- undone by Marxist enemies of America. And these idiots on the Board are letting them do it all -- for NO reason. a simple apology would have sufficed.
I’m getting a little tired of the “_____is a private company...they can do whatever they want” bull bleep. It only seems to be one sided....the side who has the mouthpiece of the scum anti American media! The side with all the lawyers. I’m done with that excuse. We are losing our rights.
They will next scrub his image from any historical materials regarding the founding of his own company. How very Stalin/Soviet of them! You can lose everything by saying a word. Perhaps you can lose everything by being accused of saying a word. I am not sure Orwell’s 1984 even hinted at what we are seeing before us.
This is all about the NFL thing, nothing more.
If Schnatter was an outspoken liberal, he’d have gotten a free pass like Samantha Bee.
Im having a hard time feeling sorry for this guy considering all the stupidity that has spewed out of his mouth.
What stupidity?
Ah yes, Sambo’s - The pancake house named after the story of the african kid who stopped a tiger by making the tiger chase him around a tree until the tiger became butter and he ate the tiger with pancakes.
yes yes - that was a racially insensitive restaurant - not like Black Panther at all.
The U.S. justice system is not involved here.
Regards,
was sambo Indian or African?
“related to diversity and inclusion.
Which results in neither of the two.
Actually it’s not a private company but a public one.
But as he resigned as CEO and then last week off the board - he has very little power in the company he founded.
But he does have 30% of the vote. If he can gather up 21% of the stock through alliances or purchases he can take over the company again.
No and the McCarthy committee on un-American activities does not have a thing on this mess.
Hmm... you’re right, I think it was Indian - which makes the accusations of racism even dumber! :)
Subjugation or their attempt to bypass the 13th Amendment?
nothing rational about these protests. I remember when it started. Used to go to sambos in Davis and Santa Barbara much better than Dennys
So am I. Often seems to come from Ayn Rand fanatics.
I think “Papa John” should offer to sell his shares to the board, and retire.
The public will only remember that the company, “Papa John”, is racist. A boycott will ensue, and they’ll fold.
So, Schnatter should take the money, and run...now. Otherwise, he’ll end up going down the drain with them.
