If you’re going to arrest him do it, and handcuff him. What’s with the enforced yoga instructions. I’m not all that flexible and would have had a hard time complying myself.

You got things like Live PD which lives up rather well to the tagline ‘America’s Ride Along’ where you get to see many well trained officers who do what people expect them to do, sometimes butting up against some incredibly obnoxious people.

You’ve got hundreds of hours of live broadcast that show how officers are supposed to act. And then you get 30 seconds videos showing an officer doing something which would have gotten any non-officer arrested and put in jail. And it’s justified because the guy didn’t completely follow orders.

Mind you, I blame the guy for not following orders just as much. Don’t be stupid, just follow directions to the best of your ability, and hold flippin’ still. And of course, we’re only seeing part of the situation, not what happened moments before, what the call was, etc.

Officers need community support, they need people to not just pick up their cell phones and video, but telling their fellows to just hold still, comply with orders, things can get figured out. That’s not going to happen with videos like this.

The blue line isn’t doing themselves favors by acting like thugs with a non-combative “perp”.

Pretty evil IMO.

Suspect did not comply with orders to put his legs straight out. Since we don’t know why this man was being detained because we have only a few seconds worth and it isn’t the police body cam but some ‘citizen’ .....

It’s almost as though some of these cops were intentionally hired because they were shown to have some kind of psychological issues that may lead them to pull this crap and make all cops look bad.

It also sounded like he was being told to cross his legs at the same time which seem to confuse him reasonably so. The cop is an idiot with a badge imo.

Well, at least he didn't shoot him. Were he a dog, he'd be a goner.

Yes, the woman cop said, “and cross them”. He did, and got tased.

Why isn’t there a standard, ONE cop talks. It would save a lot of confusion and a few lives.

On the video, it looked like initially the guy was standing and the policeman was telling him something, THEN the guy chose to ignore the policeman and sat down on the sidewalk.

NOT the same, as if some guy was sitting on the sidewalk and the police walked up to him and tased him,

You heard correctly. The guy looked like he might have been high and was getting confused with all the demands being shouted at him.

“not what happened moments before, what the call was, etc”

No context whatsoever to this video. The cop wanted him to put his legs straight, not a comfortable position with knees bent. An easier position to get up and run, or attack from. I don’t know what he was being accused of or if it was warranted. The cop could have shocked him a lot more than what he did though
