Sincerity in grieving the more recent aggrieved comes in meaningful prayer not from political theatrics.
Its all over but for the private Annapolis, Maryland burial today, but did anybody bother to pray for the soul of the late Senator John McCain during the public memorial service, or was it just-poor-taste theatrics all the way through?
Until the progressive-left moved in to politicize them, memorials were held to pray over the dead, asking God Almighty to show mercy on their souls.
How is it that a funeral has now become a event to use for political purposes? Is that what the family really wants to do? I understand that even Aretha Franklin's funeral had to take shots at Trump.
Instead of celebrating one’s life and mourning a loss these two high profile funerals were used in a shameless way to Bash Trump and in McCain's case some sort of revenge spectacle.
In the course of time McCain's funeral will be seen as what it was a grudge funeral with no honor at all. In my opinion McCain gave the insult to his heritage and did not stand for Truth, Honor, and Country. It's a Blasphemy for him to be buried at the Naval Academy with such brave and honorable men.
For some reason, the funeral of John McCain reminded me of this:
“The Prophecy is a 1995 American fantasy horror-thriller film starring Christopher Walken... The film tells the story of the Archangel Gabriel (Walken) and his search for an evil soul on Earth, and a police detective who unknowingly becomes caught in the middle of an angelic civil war.
“...finds the obituary of a recently deceased Korean War veteran and war criminal named Colonel Arnold Hawthorne...
“Meanwhile, in Chimney Rock, Arizona, Simon finds the dead veteran awaiting burial and sucks the evil soul out of the body...”
Those in political power are not exempt. For the first time in history, two former presidents sling mud at the POTUS during their imitations of eulogies. The mud slinging was unworthy of the former leaders, unworthy of our country, and not a practice we would want to see repeated. We are better than this. America is better than this.
It was a soviet-style propaganda event. I was alive in the early 80’s when Brezhnev, Andropov and Chernenko all died in rapid succession. Reminds me of their funerals
Don’t you think they missed the boat by NOT putting him on a train across the nation so All would have a chance to view his casket — heck they could’ve milked it for another week.
McCain was with this program before his death.
Ping!
check Jesse Jackson in the background getting a good eyeful of mini dress - and even more when she sang and bent over with Jackson and Clinton straight behind her. But who would wear a mini to a funeral in the first place?
Farrakhan seemed to be enjoying the view, as well.
I thought he preferred his women to be in Burkas.
I believe the “Cat Ballou” reference concerns Lee Marvin’s mistaking the funeral for Cat Ballou’s dad for a birthday party because of candles around the coffin. Lee drunkenly sings “Happy Birthday, Happy Birthday, Harpy Birthday to You” over the corpse. It is so outrageous, it’s hilarious.
“They show nothing but contempt for the president and his supporters because he is not from their club. The club that sells out the average American on a daily basis.”
I find it convenient to use this to shove into the face the folks who are the deep state, the actual villains, who put on political theatrical drama against each other while they are unified in attempting to destroy this nation. It was also convenient when GWB showed his ass to everyone when Trump was on the campaign trail. Glad he showed up to do it again yesterday to reinforce his position as anti-American.
I can’t spit enough times to clear any words of admiration I had for the man out of my mouth.
