Cool. Nothing like a huge natural disaster to shake things up a bit.

Taurid meteor swarm is the remains of an ancient comet which broke up. It is also the same swarm which is believed to contain some really large mile diameter chunks - two of these chunks are believed to have hit the Earth causing the end of the last Ice Age and 1000 years later, the Younger Dryas (the coldest period ever) - and the destruction of the then existing worldwide civilization.
Do not mess with the Taurids

Where in the universe does nothing move? And, where is the empty spot from which everything was flung outward at Big Bang time? And how fast is the empty spot getting bigger as everything races away?

Hard to disagree with you gents but as a lifelong Californian I’d like to see on land on the State Capitol in Sacramento, during Session, with Gavin Newsom in the chamber at the same time.
And for an added bonus, have one hit Washington DC too.

Of course, he was wrong, because he said 1909, instead of the correct 1908. Shows what happens when a quasi-intellectual, unreconstructed occult maven like Ackroyd does a movie script. :^)

Tesla's death ray is known today as the microwave oven. :^)
David Hatcher Childress made the claim that Tesla's firing up of the Wardenclyffe Tower caused the Tunguska event, and that he did that to put on a show for a famous polar explorer, maybe that's what you're thinking of? :^)

Thanks for the ping. The climatic implications of those meteor impacts is very interesting. Certainly easier to give credence to than a minuscule addition to a trace gas in the atmosphere.
