One other thing though, the Frank house had no Netflix, but they did get their food delivered.

Friends of the family and some employees or Anne’s dad smuggled it to them. So there’s that.

Please re-read my post. I explicitly singled-out woke snowflakes whining about depression in their HEPA-filtered, Netflix-streamed, food-delivered homes.. I said zero about the people voluntarily masking up, looking at the data and seeing 100k people killed in two months from a bug about which people knew very little. I have a LOT of sympathy for people already depressed or who have emotional needs that have been trashed via "social distancing."

There is a lot of ugly behavior this bug has revealed - most of it is of the megalomaniac type and statist desires on the left, but a goodly amount has been on the right. Indeed, I'm not one of these dips who feel it's my God-given responsibility to smack society around like the Don did to his Godson, and refrain from wearing a mask - and tell everyone who does so that they're a wuss - when a business like a grocery store mandates it. The left - I expect them to be classless and lacking in empathy. But nobody made these "what happened to America?" types the Lords of America.

By all means, let's debate. Let's sort this out. And of course people can speak their mind. But understand, I don't have to like your stupidity.

Thanks for listening.

Not at all.

I've been able to maintain my prayer life IN CHURCH.

I've stayed VERY busy finishing my 4th year in Catholic Biblical School (virtually now).

I've stayed VERY busy:

Building a raised bed garden,

Building a predator proof chicken run.

Planting a small orchard complete with deer proof fencing.

and otherwise maintaining the property.

If you're depressed, get off of your butt.

The Democrats need you to be afraid.

Then you will vote for them.

Leiferman’s team recently found that people in Colorado have, during the pandemic, been nine times more likely to report poor mental health than usual. About 23 percent of Coloradans have symptoms of clinical depression...

And this is some kind of mystery?! People's lives are on hold, in the best case. In the worse case, other people are seeing their lives destroyed. And they are depressed?!

I'm shocked!

I don’t know how I got involved in this but I’m staying out of it :-)

That being said not everything is black and white. Using Anne Frank as an example is an extreme and there are many in-betweens. Anyway that’s my opinion.

you wouldn be surprised the positions you find yourself in in the future that you never thought were possible and the position you are in is one that you scuffed at when others had it

But you’ve always been respectful to me and do put up a lot of good posts so I hope your future and the future of your loved ones is a happy one :-)

I have not hurt that you think I’m weak.

I thought the same thing of people with depression before it hit me. Have a good one man.

Are you sure the people you are talking to aren’t just plain high?

In Colorado, one must definitely consider that.

“... but we cower in fear that we might get te sniffles.”

Really? Sniffles? Are our elderly in nursing homes dying of “sniffles”? Where do you suppose those elderly got those “sniffles” from?

I’m not depressed. I’m angry.

I’m depressed AND angry.

Now, I work from home and live in the middle of nowhere, so I’m pretty much a shut-in anyway. But it depresses me to think that I now live in a world without flea markets, concerts, museums, sporting events, etc. - even if I rarely attended such things. I want my world back, and I’m really, really pissed at the Chinese for inflicting this onto the world in what, in my book, amounts to an act of war.

Libs are usually depressed AND angry.

So I just settle on the term “b1tchy”.

Trump is the one who, I think, knew the truth of this all along and could have stopped it, or altered it to a “protect the old and the sick” format as you mentioned. Instead, he let them walk all over him.

Now he comes out like some kind of white knight and declares churches as essential. He should never for one second have entertained the idea that any constitutional right be interfered with, certainly not after the original predictions of 2 million deaths became an obvious fabrication.

He may be the best of the lot but he’s still part of the problem. I’ll vote for him only because there is no better choice, and I certainly do hope he wins. Because the alternative could be almost beyond comprehension at this point.

I dread the future of this nation, because the liberals will be in full control again someday, unless voters wise up.

I cheer myself up by thinking that what we are suffering now is going to payoff in November.

1. DJT has shown the Nation he was correct about needing manufacturing & essential industries in our Country. Now he will have the leverage to make that happen (under cost & before schedule).
Ditto closing the borders to illegal immigration, gonna be a lot easier to get the wall built. Ditto medical insurance reform and regulatory overhaul & pruning. COVID-19 has created conditions that will catalyze both regulatory reform (including trimming redundant government workers) and more affordable drugs & insurance tailored by the end user.

2. People are hurting and unless they are in terminal TDS they know it is their own Governors & Mayors, of the liberal persuasion, that are sticking it to them. There is going to be a lot of political housecleaning and a man with a track record of creating the conditions to build a great economy is going to be in demand.

4. Most people are realizing that they are being lied to by the press, the Gov’t and the politicians. POTUS as an outsider has the moral high ground.

This is not as concise & trenchant as I would like but I hit the high points.

Here in L.A. spirits seem to be high despite the strictness of lockdown measures...

That's because you guys get your daily required vitamin D just from peeking out the window for 10 seconds. If you go out to check the mail, you're set for a week.

>>and understandable they would miss and feel this loss after this long being cooped up.<<

Being bummed <> being depressed. They are throwing the word around too loosely. And I was a solo bachelor for many, many years and lived the solitary life. I expected no sympathy nor did it ever occur to me I needed it.

It is today’s “you ought to be...” culture that creates this artificial malaise for people who need external gratification and acknowledgement.

It has only been a few months.

Boo Hoo.

No no, quite the contrary! You're one of the strongest people here. You have the humanity to tell people what's happening in your world, no holds-barred.

I looped you in BECAUSE of that humanity....you're not a snowflake, and you have legit issues. I looped younin because you, of all people, some things aren't always black and white - that guy wearing a mask that some around here want to belittle may have an elderly parent at home who they don't want to accidentally kill. There has been such a loss of humanity that it's is saddening (more on that later).

The Anne Frank post is intended for your stereotypical Northeast whiner who's suddenly depressed because they can't go to Macy's and Broadway because of this little cold that Trump coulda stopped, and they have to eat organic porterhouse delivered from Whole Foods instead of Au Poivre at Smith & Wollensky. You aren't them.

Once you get on the bull’s back you need to ride.

I do not think POTUS had the power to put the genie back in the bottle. He was very wise to use the occasion to model Federalism. That is like having money in the bank; it will pay off as he pares back Government overreach, closes down the duplicative efforts and cuts regulation. He will be able to rejuvenate fiscal responsibility in the States by pulling back central control which has been leveraged from funding tied to mandates.

IMO it was better to allow Fauci, Birx, the COVID model, the nanny state, the media, the leftist politicians to out themselves. People who say politicians put infected people among helpless nursing home patients will not forget or forgive.

Rather than impotently getting in a slinging contest to try and turn this around when the science is unclear & contradictory, when people have been spooked by the lying media & the left, when reason, logic & truth have fled our President concentrated on protecting Americans, protecting the economy, moving his objectives like the wall, drug & medical supply chain into the USA down the field. I think when the dust settles a lot will have been accomplished. Even the Fed is now in partnership with Treasury and can perhaps be audited and be transparent.

I think that the interference with our Constitutional rights is a short term pain for a long term gain. Now the topic has been made real to many more people and POTUS will keep bringing attention to the issue. There are many abuses of power that have ben tolerated and once the topic is raised abuses will no longer be as easy. Even voter ID may be possible.
