(Federalist) The inspector general for the U.S. Capitol Police (USCP) has opened a formal investigation into whether the law enforcement agency tasked with securing the Capitol has been inappropriately surveilling elected members of Congress, their staff, and visitors to their offices, The Federalist has learned.
The opening of the investigation follows news reports and accusations from lawmakers that USCP has overstepped its bounds as it tries to recover from the January 6 riots that tarnished both the Capitol and the reputation of the law enforcement agency that was supposed to keep it safe.
In related - Pelosi’s Capitol Police are alleged to have illegally entered the office of Congressman Troy Nehls (R-TX), photographing confidential legislative products and grilling staff, according to reports. The police – now under formal investigation – stand accused of dressing up as construction workers and attempting another entry just two days later. Reports suggest Capitol Police have built intelligence dossiers on those illegally investigated.
OBSERVATION - Pelosi has converted the Capitol police into her how personal stazi. The incidents are egregious. Should the democrats lose the house in November, the incoming republicans should clean house an have heads roll (figuratively). This is another step taking govt agencies and targeting protected activity of citizens and their representatives.
In related, Representative Louie Gohmert has accused the DoJ of intercepting mail from his constituents and illegally holding it. In one case, mail was withheld from the Congressman for over four months. “It is gravely concerning that since Congressional mail is constitutionally protected under the Speech and Debate Clause of the Constitution, it could be routed, intentionally or not, through the highly partisan DOJ. This is felonious behavior.”
OVERALL OBSERVATIONS - These Capitol police and DOJ actions point to a more aggressive move by the biden/leftist govt against US citizens.
If a CW2 scenario goes hot, the likelihood of active involvement by govt agencies skyrocket. It ceases to be a more culture conflict between Red and Blue, but Fed Govt vs Red citizens/states.
There will be no testimony. They know it, everybody knows it. October surprise firecracker dud.
The pattern is that the J6 commies don’t want live testimony from hostile witnesses. I would be very surprised if they gave POTUS Trump a platform on live TV. They prefer to edit the video, cut and paste it together, and only then broadcast it.

All this sounds like high crimes and misdemeanors to me.
The obvious thing to do if the Repukes take the house is to setup a Trump heavy, Commission to continue this work and subpona Trump. Hold that subpona until a week before the 2024 elections at which time you call Trump in to answer for the charges against him by the commision (in prime time). Trump uses that uninterupted time to speak to the American people about whatever he sees fit. The questionnaires need to show themselves to be very supportive, understanding and professional.
Well, They are going to have to rush their timeline here, the way I see it.
If I was Trump, I’d probably outwardly (partial bluff) claim that I want to testify, while procedural-ly stall it. They (Pelosi, committee, etc) are going to want to try to get the “contempt of congress” as soon as possible, and push it to the DOJ, or better yet, force Trump into the banana-republic show trial. Then, the DOJ obviously wont sit on the recommedation to prosecute for obstruction or whatever the hell they will do.
Ideally for the banana-republic democrats, this would all happen before the election, in order to affect the outcome. However, the realistic deadline would be to get Trump before congress BEFORE next January when they no longer control the banana-republic version of the house.

I think the most he would be able to do would be give his opening statement, pointing out how corrupt the committee is with chapter and verse examples, then getting up and walking out.
If he remains for any sort of questioning, they’ll talk over his answers and cut them off, ultimately shutting off his mic, so he’s better off leaving after his statement and daring them to do something about it.
I think it would be a mistake.
He knows what their allegations are and can respond in writing.
To engage in their theater, on their stage, according to their rules, in a format that typically involves the worst kind of bloviating for soundbites by morons with name plates in front of them is a mistake.
He won’t get a fair shake from the media either (to include Fox News) no matter what he says or how poorly they behave.
They have to do a report. Make them issue their report. Playing in their rigged game is not any smarter than believing you can pick up a turd by the clean end.

Andrew McCarthy’s legal opinion is that Trump will not testify.
It would be a disaster of epic proportions. This is not a trial where you get to answer your own attorney’s questions - it’s a kangaroo court where Trump would be gaveled to silence and made to look a complete embarassment by a 100% hostile “court” and the Deep State’s media lapdogs.

Show us just one sign that “CW2” is anything more that idle chatter and wishful thinking. There is no organized opposition, no leadership, no communications channel (that isn’t controlled by the left), and those who care the most are too old. The military and media are controlled by the left and electionss were stolen and will be again. When the current generation allows children to be mutilated and brainwashed by perverts how likely are they going to fight anything else? Wars are fought by the young, and on which side do the majority of the young fall today?

They will want it in private so they can slice up any questions and responses to suit their needs.
Trump can play the committee by showing his patient side and use his wit to play them like the fools they really are. If he goes on the verbal warpath, however, he will play right into their hands. He's smart enough to execute this correctly, but pissed enough to go nuclear. It'll be one hell of a show either way.
