A question for everyone: What punishment would you give for each of the first 10 times that an adult with no weapon steals a parked car?

A question for everyone: What punishment would you give for each of the first 10 times that an adult with no weapon steals a parked car? In each case, the owner is not present during the theft. In each case, there is video proof of the theft, and thief’s face is clearly visible and identifiable.

My answer:

First conviction: 10 years in prison.

Second conviction: 20 years in prison.

Third conviction: Death by this method of assisted suicide, which is painless, quick, effective, and cheap: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sarco_pod

Therefore, for my answer, convictions 4 through 10 will never happen.

I hit them with the car starting at 20kph, then go up by 20kph increments each time.

They’re probably stealing cars for drug money. And they are probably also dealing drugs. I support the DP for those in possession of more than a certain amount of heroin/fentanyl/meth,etc...first offense.

You can support it all you want but in our current America, it’s almost impossible to execute even the worst murderers. And when they do, it’s only after 20 yrs of lawyering and courtroom time.

The sentence would be the convict working in prison to pay back the replacement value of a new model of the same car, along with working to pay back the cost of his incarceration.

Hire a company of former Japanese prison guards to run the prison. They apparently have a low recidivism rate among prisoners.

That’s racist.

They used to hang horse thieves. That was a pretty effective deterrent.

First Offense - 1 year on chain gang hard labor.
Second Offense - Brand a big T on the forehead for thief and 2 years chain gang hard labor.
Third Offense - Deemed non rehabilitative, hang by neck until dead.

First conviction: Part I: an hours-long savage beating with heavy canes and cat-o-nine tails, leaving the criminal in such bad shape they could not sit in a car for months, much less drive one. During the punishment, force the criminal to explain why they are getting it, and why they deserve it. Explain that Part II of the sentence has been suspended, but if they are caught re-offending, their hands and feet will be surgically removed immediately. No new trial required.

Second conviction: Probably not necessary.

If you start with the right foot, it’d be much more difficult for the thief to steal a second car; moreso for a stick shift.

Good point....but not much dexterity needed. On the other hand starting with the hands means less chance of being able to manipulate tools to steal the car.

I believe that the percentage of a certain race in our population is around 14%

Every person convicted of any crime, the person of that race that exceeds the 14% of of total crime convictions in any given year should be expelled from the country to remote islands, already owned by the U.S.

Sort of like England did with Australia. That worked out well didn’t it?

Same rules for all races.

Should make leftists happy, they love quotas.

First offense: they are given my car.

Second offense: they have to keep my car.

Forget the Sarco pod. The thrice-convicted car thief simply becomes a one-time rope tester.

He lifts his trouser leg. ‘’All it done was make me angry. I’ve had mates killed from joyriding and I’ve looked in their coffin and said a wee prayer and I know myself that I’d be right out the door stealin’ cars an hour later. Punishments don’t register.’’ He pauses.

A few paragraphs score this the genius wonders WHY they did it?
