Japan in Population Meltdown as Two People Now Dying for Every One Born
Slay News ^ | 2/29/24 | Frank Bergman

New data from the Japanese government shows that Japan’s population is continuing to spiral into an unsustainable meltdown.

Japan’s birth data for 2023 has just been published by the government and it shows the shocking crisis of the nation’s falling population appears to be accelerating.

As Slay News has previously reported, experts had already been warning that Japan was facing a critical situation as birth rates have been plummeting to unsustainable levels.

The data for 2022 revealed that the ratio of births to deaths had reached a point that is a long way from the level that is required to maintain a stable population.

Experts are now raising the alarm over concerns that the nation’s shrinking population will become too small to support Japan’s economy.

Japan has a pension system similar to Social Security.

Specify that only the parents of at least two children will qualify for cost of living increases. And that in a couple decades childless people won’t get pension.

China is experiencing its own population collapse, which is even worse in scale than Japan.

The only countries that have a birth rate greater than replacement are in Africa and the Middle East; hardly great examples of capitalism.

The only reason we have an increasing population in the US is due to immigration, illegal and otherwise.

In what way is Japan socialist? In what way is Korea or Singapore socialist? They, like the US, are capitalist welfare states. Japan and Korea have some of the lowest birth rates of any countries in the world.

If your idea of a non-socialist country is one without welfare programs, then there would be no capitalist countries on Earth. Certainly the US wouldn't be considered capitalist by libertarian purists.

“Capitalism also leads to birth dearth”

More precisely, having women enter the work force does. A woman who stays home raising kids does not get a salary.

Perhaps a one-child tax exemption sufficient to cause middle class women to find children more affordable would help? As a percentage of income, not a set dollar amount.

Japan is not the only country with this issue:

Kaiser Bauch is a conservative Eastern European who has a number of well researched and insightful videos on the subject of the worldwide population collapse.

Multi-culturalism in Japan would be an utter disaster.

Agree! 30 years of doing business in Japan taught me their greatest natural resource is their people and culture. Its not oil, timber, coal etc.

Their limiting non Japanese to work and live there would be called "racist" by the west's standards. By theirs, its preserving their strength.

At least they don’t let muslims in to build mosques (recruiting centers) like we stupidly do.

Prosperity leads to hedonism, which leads to childless adults focused on instant gratification over the longer, deeper joy of parenthood. So far as I know, no developed nation (regardless of ideology/governance) has escaped this trap.

Dreams of android servants and AI notwithstanding, at some point a declining population will be unable to sustain itself technology and industrially. Apocalypse may happen with a whimper, not with a (nuclear) bang. Only then may the cycle begin to move back to the beginning...

This is not just in Japan, this is every developed country, Europe is only disguising it by bring it migrants. In fact the population collapse is why they are bringing in migrants.

The West in general is contracepting, aborting, and displacing themselves into oblivion. As in nature, only the strong and virile who protect their nests and dens survive.

Japan is a socialist nation. They have people pay to the state in their taxes and receive social benefits from the state. That’s how socialism works. I know liberals define socialism as having the government’s name on the owner document. That’s liberals get away with their desire for a 99.9999% tax rate and confiscating 167 hours and 59 minutes of somebody’s time and it’s not socialism. That’s just utter kaa-kaa.

The world has gone socialist, except African and ME nations (Israel aside) that is why all the Western nations are not reproducing themselves and are being replaced by Third worlds who will vote for social benefits for themselves and enslave the Westerner in the process.

Is that why liberals support abortion the way they do, because they know they have sold their children into slavery and want to avoid their own children?

It is incorrect to say they do not allow but Japanese live in Japan.

I have several friends that have lived in Japan for years.

True. But they do make it EXTREMELY difficult to live there if you are a foreign national. I worked for a company and ended up living in Japan for nearly four years in the early 2000's, and thankfully my company handled most of the bureaucracy and paperwork. It was so onerous and such a full-time job that the Japanese women hired to shepherd me through the process charged the company close to $100k USD for the four years I was there.

The general consensus is it would be impossible for Joe Blow off the street to just decide one day he wanted to become a full-time resident in Japan. For one thing the vast majority of Japanese will not rent to a foreigner (which is perfectly legal in Japan) and those that do often want payment up front. And by "up front" I mean if you are planning to live there four years, they want the ENTIRE four years rent up front. Also, if you are thinking about buying a home, there are all kinds of additional hoops to jump through, most Japanese banks won't loan money to foreign residence, so you pretty much have to cough up the purchase price in cash.

Then even simple things like getting utilities in your name are virtually impossible as a foreigner, I ended up having to get mine in my company's name, then they would bill me once the utility companies billed them.

There was even one time my cell phone died, and I tried to get a replacement. I quickly found out that cell phone carriers in Japan won't even deal with foreign residents, even if you are willing to pay up front. Again, I ended up having to get a phone in my company's name, then getting my own when I returned to the states.

You’re right that it was women going into the workforce that did it. Basically it was the elite’s way of dropping wages by introducing twice as many people to do jobs without the corresponding increase in jobs.

1. Contraception
2. Abortion
3. Women with higher education and jobs
4. Social media
5. Tinder, etc.
6. Women making more money than men and not wanting to marry down
7. General increase in decadence, narcissism, mental disorders
8. Bad/unpredictable economy
9. Infertility from environmental and pharmaceutical causes
10. Dissolution of churches and communities in part due to the automobile (too easy to leave town rather than face issues)

France and Sweden have tried bribing women to have more kids with marginal results. There are so many things that need to be addressed to turn this around that I fear there won't be any people left for the AI robots to enslave or slaughter.

Right. Taxing people so they could not afford children had nothing to do with why the number children has fallen below replacement levels, despite that every Western country that has adopted socialism has fallen into the same pattern.

There WILL BE no payouts if there are no young workers paying taxes.

You can “appear fair”. Or you can avoid the complete collapse of the system. Choose.

Japan will eventually buckle and bring in foreign labor.

But they're not going to be stupid about it. They're not going to import Afghani goatherders or sub-Saharan Africans.

They'll import Filipinos.
