Al Qaeda again threatens New York, Washington and Los Angeles - Daily Terror Threat

A new message was posted in the last few hours by the Jeddah-based al-Qaeda-linked Al-Islah (Reform) society calling on Muslims to flee New York, Washington and Los Angeles in advance of major al Qaeda attacks in those cities. This is revealed by DEBKAfile.

The message accuses the United States of predetermining its end (doom) by its policies. ?The Jews rule the Pentagon by remote control and (are the cause) of Muslims being killed in every corner of the world. The United States should therefore expect more blows.?

The message is signed on behalf of the al Bayan (The Threat) movement by ?your warrior brother, Abul Hassan al Khadrami?.

Our Muslim expert identifies the name of the signatory as belonging to a Yemeni from Hadhrameuth, the Bin Ladens? place of origin where Osama enjoys substantial tribal support.

DEBKAfile?s counter-terror sources stress that warnings appearing on these forums are taken both very seriously and with caution by the intelligence services keeping track of the terrorist network?s electronic traffic.

Last November, Jeddah-based fundamentalist forums addressed a message to an Al Qaeda member, saying whoever understands ? understands; whoever knows, knows, but we are marching towards an operation that will take us to Paradise. Three days later, the Mombasa Paradise hotel was blown up killing 12 Kenyans and 3 Israelis and a failed shoulder-launched Strela anti-air missile missed an Israeli airliner at Mombasa airport.

I didn't find any info. I just happened to be listening to the news (I keep the tv on the news pretty much 24/7) and heard President Bush's name mentioned. That's when the bell dinged. I recall seeing something posted in the past about ME guys being spotted around the ranch with cameras and such. And it's definitely rural.

I know Las Vegas is considered a possibility and agree there's a strong chance it could be.

I wouldn't want to have the job of trying to figure these things out for Homeland Security after seeing some of the things we've seen here. WAY too much to sift through!

People keep ignoring the Rose Bowl and Rose Parade -- when in fact thousands people are out there -- and it's all televised.

And the "window" Homeland Security is talking about is from now til Feb 2. The Super Bowl in in Houston on Feb 1

I just contend that AlQaeda IS capable of servicing the nukes sufficiently to get the job done. How many? That's a whole 'nother issue. But I could imagine 3--maybe 5 IF they had a LOT of early help setting things up long beforehand. I can't imagine 20 container nukes roaming around, all being sufficiently serviced. I think your assertions would cut into that more than even AlQaeda could manage.

Servicing a nuke requires specialized equipment and know-how that is not commonly available, PLUS the tritium.

I wonder since so many didn't show up at WTC on 9-11 what percentage were Arab?

Where did the rumor start that "so many didn't show up at the WTC on 09-11?" The attacks occurred at ~ 8:50 a.m. In NYC, people often don't show up to the office until 9:00, 9:30, even 10:00 a.m.. If the attack had occurred an hour later, the death toll could have easily topped 20,000.

Your right rad, that is why they hesitate in changing the alert I guess. And the flow is so extreme right now and too vague they have to try to cover all bases and then change them again with each new intel...we owe those who serve our country so much.

Heavenly Father, we return to give You thanks that Your mercy has endured this night, and that we awaken to pray that Your hand of protection will rest mightily upon our beloved country this day. Thank You that there are those who watched over us during the night, and those who will guard us this day ... may they be ever vigilant and graced with wisdom and discernment. Cover them with the mantle of Your protection, for great is their responsibility.

Be for us, Heavenly Father, eyes that see what we cannot. Turn back any plan or assault, that innocent blood not be shed. May we, too, be vigilant and quick to announce any approaching danger. Increase the might and power of our country, that others might turn back in fear. Work in our hearts that we continually plead the cause of our security before the Throne of Grace, for there we find our help in time of need. May it be thus, O God, in the Name of Jesus, Amen ...

For whatever reasons thank God the numbers were smaller, it was 'my' hypothesis if normally so many that worked there and the percentage that were there, of those how many may have been Arab. This is because the warnings we've posted insinuate and warn all muslims to leave the US as of two months ago.

Personal story: My MIL building of employment. Huge corporations five minutes from O'Hare. Some guy on one of the floors was found to have been making many calls to the ME. But no one did a thing about it until the FBI swarmed down, taking his records, his pc etc. but of course he hadn't showed up for work and fled who knows where. So I was simply wondering of these instances on 911

Terror Alert Increased to HIGH – Are You Prepared?
Bruce Mandelblit
Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2003

On the Sunday before Christmas, Secretary of Homeland Security Tom Ridge made a powerful public statement that the federal government had decided to raise our nation’s terror alert level from elevated (yellow) to high (orange).

Secretary Ridge stated, “The strategic indicators, including al-Qaeda's continued desire to carry out attacks against our homeland, are perhaps greater now than at any point since September 11, 2001.”

Ridge went on, “The information we have indicates that extremists abroad are anticipating near-term attacks that they believe will either rival or exceed the attacks that occurred in New York, in the Pentagon, in the fields of Pennsylvania nearly two years ago.”

These potent statements by Secretary Ridge lead to the logical question: How can the average family prepare for a possible terrorist attack?

The National Crime Prevention Council, with assistance from the U.S. Department of Justice, has put together a superb booklet with some very basic steps to help most Americans prepare for a possible act of terrorism or other natural and man-made disasters, such as hurricanes or major power outages.

Here are some of the simple tips offered in “United for a Stronger America: Citizens’ Preparedness Guide”:

1. Make a list of important numbers. Write down important local numbers such as the non-emergency numbers for the police department, fire department and FBI field office. Keep this information by the phone and make copies for yourself and your family to keep in their wallets.

2. Write down phone numbers and contact information for your family. Keep one copy by the phone and provide others to family and friends.

3. Make a neighborhood directory and plan. Include emergency contact information and plans for children and seniors who may be home alone during emergency situations. Identify neighbors who need additional help, such as young children, seniors and those with disabilities, and develop a plan to assist them in an emergency.

4. Make your house easy to find. Make sure your street address number is large and well lighted so that emergency personnel can find your home quickly.

5. Organize an emergency preparedness kit. Your kit should contain, at the minimum, the following supplies:

A three- to five-day supply of water (one gallon per person per day)

Food that will not spoil and requires no cooking

A first-aid kit and needed medicines (consult your physician and pharmacist about storing medications and keep copies of your prescriptions)

Emergency tools like a battery-powered radio, cell phones, flashlight and extra batteries

Personal items like toilet paper and plastic garbage bags

A portable emergency generator if possible
A Quick Security Tip: Check batteries, change the stored water and rotate the food supplies every six months.

For further details about what to include in emergency supply kits and how to learn about CPR and first-aid training in your neighborhood, contact the America Red Cross at www.redcross.org (1-866-GET-INFO) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency at www.fema.gov (1-800-480-2520).

Also be sure to log on to the Department of Homeland Security’s Web site [www.ready.gov] for a multitude of preparedness data.

My Final Thoughts: This is just the very tip of the iceberg when it comes to disaster preparedness; however, setting up a proper emergency plan and supply kit are good places to start.

To get your own copy of “United for a Stronger America: Citizens’ Preparedness Guide” at no charge, just log on to www.weprevent.org or call 1-800-WE-PREVENT.

I like to think of what I call the “three Ps” when it comes to terrorism and other types of disasters:

Don’t PANIC.

Keep things in PERSPECTIVE.

Be PREPARED.
Planning for an unexpected catastrophe, including potential acts of terrorism, takes, of course, some effort. But by using common sense and implementing the appropriate steps as suggested by our local, state and federal emergency authorities, we can work together to prepare and help protect our families and communities.
I will end this column with some additional comments made by Secretary Ridge when raising our national terror alert level to high:

“America is a country that will not be bent by terror. America is a country that will not be broken by fear. And instead, America is a country blessed with citizens marked by good will and great resolve. We will show the terrorists both during this holiday season: good will toward our fellow men and readiness and resolve to protect our families and our freedoms.”

True. I have seen reports that something as common as a 12V automobile battery an render a tacitcal suitcase nuke operational from a long dormancy.

If one looks at the thousands and thousands of people who worked at the WTC on 09.10.01, I'm suspect there were a handful of Islamics who may have known about the attack and stayed away from the office on 09.11. But the real reason the towers were not full was the time of the attack. At that time of the morning, many people were still on the subway or Path Train or in the underground mall grabbing a cup of coffee when the attack occurred. And because the planes hit the buildings in the upper floors, many people were able to escape who otherwise would have died if the planes had stuck at mid-level. Although there was a lot of after-the-fact criticism about the design of the buildings, the buildings in fact, stood long enough for many people to escape.

I agree that a low-yield device would create alot of havoc in the area of the detonation. However, I am not convinced that areas outside of 2 miles of ground zero will have massive destruction.

The issue is that the low-yield creates less of a fission and more of a fizzle (according to the technical comments of others in this thread).

Daleel is al foq'd.

No doubt!

I suppose there is another implication . . . which you'd like less . . .

that IF

they pull such off, then they MUST have had major country complicity.

No more tinfoil hats, please.

BTW,

HOW does one get around the . . . welll, the issue in my tagline, now???
