Al Qaeda again threatens New York, Washington and Los Angeles - Daily Terror Threat

A new message was posted in the last few hours by the Jeddah-based al-Qaeda-linked Al-Islah (Reform) society calling on Muslims to flee New York, Washington and Los Angeles in advance of major al Qaeda attacks in those cities. This is revealed by DEBKAfile.

The message accuses the United States of predetermining its end (doom) by its policies. ?The Jews rule the Pentagon by remote control and (are the cause) of Muslims being killed in every corner of the world. The United States should therefore expect more blows.?

The message is signed on behalf of the al Bayan (The Threat) movement by ?your warrior brother, Abul Hassan al Khadrami?.

Our Muslim expert identifies the name of the signatory as belonging to a Yemeni from Hadhrameuth, the Bin Ladens? place of origin where Osama enjoys substantial tribal support.

DEBKAfile?s counter-terror sources stress that warnings appearing on these forums are taken both very seriously and with caution by the intelligence services keeping track of the terrorist network?s electronic traffic.

Last November, Jeddah-based fundamentalist forums addressed a message to an Al Qaeda member, saying whoever understands ? understands; whoever knows, knows, but we are marching towards an operation that will take us to Paradise. Three days later, the Mombasa Paradise hotel was blown up killing 12 Kenyans and 3 Israelis and a failed shoulder-launched Strela anti-air missile missed an Israeli airliner at Mombasa airport.

You're asking me to believe that the enemy would prioritize a Michael's or Lowe's over hitting the choke point of Alaskan crude?

Any military man would scoff at the idea of targetting a shop versus a strategic resource choke point.

Then when I met someone personally who insisted personally that Tenet was a very strong, even intense Christian . . . I thought--OK, Lord, your ways are higher than my ways!

But they can easily compartmentalize such priorities and pretend lists of them don't exist. They don't care how many citizens die as long as they can maintain CONTROL.

And with power in terms of guns and tanks exclusively in control of THE PARTY . . . they figure they have it licked.

That's one thing that unnerved them so about Tienanmen and the democracy demonstrations--different warlords in different regions were starting to disobey Beijing.

Listening to aircraft scanner traffic in the last hour here in Central PA, I heard an interesting question from a private aviation pilot to controllers: "Is the expanded Camp David thing in effect?" Unfortunately, the response from the controller was unintelligible to me. But the exchange implies that there is some extra level of precaution either in place or contemplated for this potential "target" . . .

Things that make me very concerned this time around:

- Rumsfeld & Ashcroft being called back to Washington and cancelling Christmas vacation plans

- Today's planned "government continuity" exercises (per article on Yahoo..can't find it right now but read it earlier).

- FEMA at highest level (per earlier post from someone)

- SAM batteries being deployed in several locations (posts here, and also articles on Yahoo earlier)

- All of the (higher than usual) amount of bravado being posted by people like EOM and Dareel. (OK..this could be kids play acting, but there seems to be too much to some of it).

Seems plausible that the info on SteveQuayle's (sp) site is what we're up against - cargo planes loaded with WMD originating overseas. Are the WMDs nukes? Sure would seem to be a possibility based on the actions being taken (government CONTINUITY for cryin' out loud?)

I concur with what was said here earlier, though..the rags have NO idea what they are messing with. IF they tried something like this, the retaliation would be MASSIVE against any foreign govt even REMOTELY associated with terrorism or sponsorship. Buh bye, Iran! (And oh so many others).

Whaddya guys think? Are things coming unglued this time around? I put the odds at about 50% personally and pray to God that I am wrong.

Heard on TV (Wash DC, Ch.7 News) this morning that several men were prevented from entering the country a couple of weeks ago, they were on a watch list. I'm certain that some attack plans have already been thwarted. Have all plans been discovered? I don't think so.

One of the reasons for increasing the threat level is that the authorities believe that attack plans have gone from the planning phase to the operational phase. The extra security associated with the elevated threat condition may or may not prevent another attack.

All one can do is be prepared (and you should be by now) and be aware of your surroundings.

If I had travel plans, I would NOT cancel them. I would enjoy the Christmas season. Terrorists be damned.

To scare the hell out of everyone. A mall is a "soft" target that would carry plenty of collateral damage - nearly all civilian; and at this time of year, mostly women and children.

Their intent is to scare the hell out of everyone. That is one way to do it.

· The FBI is looking for information about an individual who chartered a flight from Fairbanks to Allakaket. The individual, Noreem ZAMAN, was a possible match
with a known alias, Zaman MUHAMMAD. According to the Fairbanks FBI, the known alias, Zaman MUHAMMAD, had raised suspicions due to a recent request
to charter an aircraft from Fairbanks to Allakaket.~ The flight to Allakaket passes near the Trans-Alaska Pipeline.~ Zaman MUHAMMAD and his travel companion
did not show for the chartered flight.~ The charter company alerted the Fairbanks FBI of the irregularity.~ Other charter services and air carriers have been notified of

That's been in place for a very long time, and pilots have indeed been intercepted, detained, and sometimes reprimanded for violating CD airspace.

Reminds me, a friend (with his young daughter) was once grilled and fined by Executive Police (basically uniformed Secret Service) for gathering firewood too close to CD. He was new to the area and was completely unaware that CD was nearby, or even that it was in Maryland.

A " Just in" story on CNN just stated that an ongoing terror related investigation in Los Angeles has been stepped up. People have been rounded up on unrelated charges, just to get them off the street. Unnamed sources claim they are "running against a ticking clock". I think they said something like "now the biggest investigation in the history of LA".

Yes, that's the obvious SW target to me. Much more strategic importance than Grand Coulee, near where I live.
