Welcome to Free Republic.
You should not vote.
You should not post threads to Free Republic.
You should just crawl off in the woods somewhere and go to sleep.

My understanding is that Gray Davis was elected by a very thin margin. How many like you allowed him that victory?

So you can honestly claim to have taken part in the process.

Frankly, it's a subject of ( minor ) dissent in my house- I always vote. Every time. My wife never has- in 19 years of marriage. She simply has never encountered a politician she regards as being worthy of supporting.

And while I find this annoying, she is exercising a choice, and one I'm willing to defend.

I note a lot of people who belong to the group I call "wanting to use the force of the government to make others do what they want them to do" would like to see compulsory voting- kind of like they had in the Soviet Union, or China. On that day, I'll vote from the rooftops...

Wellcome to FR.
Voting is a matter of principal as much as anything else. Every vote counts as we saw in the 2000 presidential election.
Go vote!

I can't stand these whiners who say their not going to vote because the stances of the canidates don't agree completely with all of their views. In my opinion this is just a cop-out trying to pass itself off as being principled. In this world we have to chose between a number of less than ideal options on a daily basis - this is part of being an adult. If you are willing to relinquish that choice in order to give yourself a nice self-satisfied feeling of moral superiority then good for you! There are plenty of other people with less integrity (and even further divergent from your views) that will be more than happy to make that choice for you.

Vote for President George W. Bush in November. Every vote counts. Remember Florida in 2000.

First off, my dear sacraficiallamb, you should go back to your wonderful public school teachers and kick them all in the shins: they robbed you of an education and have tossed you out into the world as a functional illiterate. (But I bet you know all about multiculturalism, how whites have oppressed the blacks, how women are better than men, how global warming is killing the planet, and how to have homosexual sex.)

As for elections, if you want those illegal aliens to have their vote count while yours does not, then go ahead and continue to abstain from voting.

Great question - very poor post (especially if that is really the best you can produce).

You should at least vote for someone who can help whatever school district produced your current state of self expression - that school district is in deep trouble.

Also, voting is just one element of citizenship. If you are unhappy with the way things are, do something to help correct the situation. Write or talk to your representatives; help better people get elected; read and then write letters to your newspaper; call in to radio talk shows; watch and then call in to C-SPAN. Get informed, get involved, get serious (you can't be that uneducated).

America has two options in November - to vote for a old liberal that raises taxes and doesn't defend freedom or to vote for a honest man that does cuts taxes and does defend freedom.
You have to vote - the future of this great country will be decided in November. Every vote counts.
Vote for President George W. Bush.
