Hillary Predicts October Surprise
Newmax ^ | 3/30/04

New York Sen. Hillary Clinton is predicting that this year's presidential election will be very tight and the victor will win because of "something unforeseen."

"It will be very close," the former first lady tells the New York Post's Cindy Adams.

On how the contest will ultimately be decided, Clinton said, "It will be outside forces - something unforeseen that suddenly happens - that tilts the election one way or the other."

In 1992, Clinton's husband won the White House after Reagan Defense Secretary Caspar Weinberger was indicted on Iran-Contra charges four days before the vote. Though the indictment was later overturned, the charges were enough to reverse President Bush 41's last-minute surge in the polls to within one point of Clinton.

In 2000 - again four days before the vote - a Democrat operative in Maine uncovered court records from Bush 43's then-24-year-old DUI stop. Bush's 5-point lead in Florida dwindled to a mere 537 votes, with the DUI news making Gore the popular vote winner nationwide.

It sounds like she's begging rats and undecideds not to ditch the party, to be patient for this something that will 'tilt the election one way or another'.

You know, I'd almost be OK with repealing suffrage for women if it meant she'd never have wound up in American politics.

Grrrrrrrrrrr..........

Sounds threatening.

Can we now add Chappaqua, NY, to the list of states known to support terrorism? Freeze her assets?

Well, the blue bits voted her in because too many of the red bits stayed home. Judging from the polls I've seen, it wouldn't happen again. The shine is well and truly off the apple.

It seems like in many close elections, there is this buzz that ends up turning the election one way or another.

The 1980 election came down to Carter and the hostages, once Reagan appeared to be a good option for the American people. He had erased some doubts with his debate performance. Once the hostages were not coming home on or before Election Day, Carter was toast.

In 1992, the buzz seemed to be the economy. The incumbent can't win that one. Even with good numbers, people are going to wake up and decide everything's good, especially when they've been told the opposite for the preceeding four years.

Moving on to last-minute surprises: the Dems almost succeeded with their last minute surprise against the President in 2000. They tried and failed with Arnold in 2003.

This year, I predict that events will play out such that there is a buzz. If the buzz is "can we capture bin Laden?" then Bush wins if we do and loses if we don't. If the buzz is "will there be a terror attack" then Bush wins if there isn't one and loses if there is.

The Dems plant the buzz thanks to their willing accomlices in the partisan media. The Dems leak last-minute surprises for the same reasons. The question is: which one to they do, and what is the subject? Which basket of trickery are their eggs in?????

I agree, Kerry will die and she will enter to save the country.

The other day someone asked Kerry if he had a "Cheney" problem. Kerry assured the reporter he did not have a "Cheney" problem.

I thought the choice of words odd because the average listener would not know precisely what the "Cheney" problem was. Some might think it was having run a large corporation. Others might think, "Oh, yeah, Cheney spends much of his time in "'an undisclosed location'". A few will realize the reporter was asking Kerry about his health, but the reported asked what might be a very specific question about his health -- "Senator Kerry, do you have a heart problem?" -- the reporter did not ask the general question -- "Senator Kerry, there have been rumors that you have some medical problems you are hiding from the American people. When will you level with the American people about your medical conditions?"

The way the question was asked, most people hearing the question and the answer are likely to conclude that Kerry has said he has a clean bill of health from the doctors.

Yes. However, with Clarke's book (and its mentioning of the theory), I am wondering how much the higherups are keeping to themselves about this angle. It would be pure gold if it came out during the dem convention while BC was speaking.

Maybe another hit on New York City by suicide bombers from Hamas.

Oh I am certain there will be another hit in NYC. Now that the Statue of Liberty is opening up, the stock market is rebounding there will definitely be a hit.

"It will be outside forces - something unforeseen that suddenly happens - that tilts the election one way or the other."

I wouldn't have too much concern over this.

If you read the comment, it is of the type she usually makes.

One that sounds good, but shows she doesn't know what the hell she is talking about, and gives her the ability to take credit ("see, Hillary told us this would happen").

One must parse this so follow the logic.

OUTSIDE FORCES? Outside of what? Of the US? Outside her door?

Tilt the election one way or another? Sounds just like John F(reeloader) Kerry's comment about "I voted for it before I voted against it."

No matter what happens in the election, HILLARY WAS RIGHT!

Serious threads get my serious prayer ...

That the Lord would render the Clintons, and ALL their minions, totally powerless and useless and nameless and faceless and voiceless and homeless and penniless ... such is their evil ... and that He would strip them bare before the world, leaving only their immortal souls, and it is for these souls I pray ...

Maybe Hillary will be impeached!

(Like your circle handle - very wise, indeed!)

The ONLY encouraging thing is that her plan will be leaked soon as rats can't keep a secret for six hours, let alone six months.

I wonder if she has designs on the convention in NY.
