The Hobbit Hole XVII - A new road or a secret gate...

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

A new road or a secret gate...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Miss Sadie is the smartest dog I have ever had. She is 2 1/2 months old and has figured out how to climb a baby gate (actually, all the gates in the house are different and she can climb them all.) We are getting her housetrained pretty well so far.

Yesterday she played King of the Mountain with our Lab, Chelsea, on the compost heap in the back yard. Guess who got a bath after we got home from church today? Heh!

Sounds good! Puppies are fun little monsters!

Post some more cute pics of her as she grows up! And the babe too, of course!

Hmmm....cut the corn off the cob, add yeast and water and let ferment.....

I'm watching some of the Appendices now. You'd think PJ could run a comb through his hair before being interviewed.

finishe up the directors' comments today. hearing some of the stories behind the locations was fascinating, like the 'mine field' at the black gate.

Did they have anything on the CGI guys running away from the battle?

Finished watching the entire ROTK extended CD set, including the eggs!

Hey can you use your ping list for this: I have a question regarding the ROTK game for PC. I am having trouble getting past the bridge in the "Path of the Dead" using Aragorn. I am getting slaughtered by the guys with the two spears. I enter it in perfect health and always die right when I am about to defeat them and move on. ARGGHHH.

In and out - last minute shopping - you'll probably catch us though.

We went to Los Cucos for dinner....... if you haven't been there you should go - excellent Mexican food and the service is incredible - homemade guacamole right at your table..........

Not that I heard on the directors comments. There might be something about it elsewhere. Got two more commentaries to watch. then two more discs. quite a body of work.

Sure... I'll ping em! See RBA's question about the RoTK game. I am afraid I can't help, I haven't played it!

I haven't played that game, but it reminds me of a problem I had in the last rooms of Neverwinter Nights. There are these rooms where you have to fight so many powerful multiple opponents that even my 20th-level paladin and his companion couldn't get past at first without getting killed. I finally managed to do it by getting them to chase me through a door into a narrow passageway, so that way there was only enough room for one to come at me at a time. Sometimes I could trick one into coming through the door and then close it so the other one couldn't get through; then I'd only have to fight one. I'd kill that one, rest up to heal myself back to full hp, then open the door again and draw the next one out. Don't know if that'll help or not with the RotK game, but FWIW.

That works with Aragorn in a few places on Path Of The Dead level.
