Yes she can swallow. In fact a nurse sometime ago fed her jello and the nurse was fired. Incidentally, Terri loved it. Today however, the priest was able to give her the wine but her mouth was too dry for the wafer. So I guess she got half of it. *weep*

I saw of clip of Schiavo getting into his Mercedes on
TV this morning. His girlfriend and the mother of his two children, works in a family insurance business. And when it comes to hearsay, the ONLY hearsay that has been presented in Court has come from Michael Schiavo and his brother and sister who, AFTER THE JURY AWARD, suddenly remembered that Terri didn't want to live on life support. Only thing is, she's NOT on life support. She needs food and water. I'm sure you had your LIFE SUPPORT this morning as did I and everyone else. In fact, there are people in the work force who have feeding tubes inserted and need to feed themselves three times a day. Food and water are not HEROIC MEASURES or Life Support. She swallows she's not been allowed to swallow any food. The Judge wouldn't even allow her to have a swallowing test administered a couple of months ago. Why is that? Probably because she could easily be being fed by now. Regardless, there is ONE man, his Lawyer and a Judge who can't get this woman DEAD fast enough!! WHY? She's wasn't suffering, all her bodily functions work, she needs therapy but then the funds for THAT were provided. Unfortunately none of it was spent for that. You know she wasn't even allowed an antibiotic for a urinary infection? Frankly, I hope this guy drops dead BEFORE he finishes Terri off.

Pagan
Christs
http://home.earthlink.net/~pgwhacker/ChristianOrigins/PaganChrists.html
By the time of Jesus of Nazareth, as for centuries before, the Mediterranean world roiled with a happy diversity of creeds and rituals. Details varied according to location and culture, but the general outlines of these faiths were astonishingly similar. Roughly speaking the ancients' gods:
1. Were born on or very near our Christmas Day
2. Were born of a Virgin-Mother
3. Were born in a Cave or Underground Chamber.
4. Led a life of toil for Mankind.
5. Were called by the names of Light-bringer, Healer, Mediator, Savior, Deliverer.
6. Were however vanquished by the Powers of Darkness.
7. And descended into Hell or the Underworld.
8. Rose again from the dead, and became the pioneers of mankind to the Heavenly world.
9. Founded Communions of Saints, and Churches into which disciples were received by Baptism. :
10. Were commemorated by Eucharistic meals
Attis predated Christ. Before and during the years the Christian Gospels were written (from the reign of Claudius, AD 41 - 54) the
Festival of Joy, celebrated Attis' death and rebirth was celebrated yearly in Rome.
A Christian writer of the fourth century AD, recounted ongoing disputes between Pagans and Christians over the remarkable similarities of the death and resurrection of their two gods. The Pagans argued that their God was older and therefore original. The Christians admitted Christ came later, but claimed Attis was a work of the devil whose similarity to Christ, and the fact he predated Christ, were intended to confuse and mislead men. This was apparently the stock answer -- the Christian apologist Tertullian makes the same argument.
Frazer's classic Adonis, Attis and Osiris is a good place to go for details. See the Books page.
Attis was born of the Virgin Nana on December 25th. He was both the Father and the Divine Son.
The Festival of Joy -- the celebration of Attis' death and rebirth On March 22 a pine tree was brought to the sanctuary of Cybele, on it hung the effigy of Attis. The God was dead. Two days of mourning followed, but when night fell on the eve of the
third day, the worshippers turned to joy. "For suddenly a light shone in the darkness;
the tomb was opened; the God had risen from the dead...[and the priest] softly whispered in their ears the glad tidings of
salvation. The resurrection of the God was hailed by his disciples as a promise that they too would issue triumphant from the corruption of the grave." [for more see Frazer, Attis, chapter 1]
Attis' worshipers at a
sacramental meal of bread and wine. The wine represented the God's
blood; the bread became the
body of the savoir.
They were
baptized in this way: a bull was placed over a grating, the devotee stood under the grating. The bull was stabbed with a consecrated spear. "It's hot reeking blood poured in torrents through the apertures and was received with devout eagerness by the worshiper...who had been
born again to eternal life and had
washed away his sins in the blood of the bull." [for more see Frazer, Attis, chapter 1]
Called
"the Good Sheppard," the "Most High God," the
"Only Begotten Son" and
"Savior."
[In Rome the new birth and the remission of sins by shedding of bull's blood took place on what is now Vatican Hill, in our days the site of the great basilica of St. Peter's]

"that way mike can go out back and fish, instead of following me around the house because he's bored and there's nothing to do on days off" LOL! Well, there are a lot of them on "the lake" or river. We have several big lakes and rivers.

Mornin' y'all. The sun is actually shining today! Yippieeee! It's supposed to get in the 70's today through Wednesday. 'Bout time. I've been freezing my butt off, and all this rain isn't conducive to getting some of my work done. Picture trapsing through 6" of mud and a half a dozen large, wet dogs to get to a house. Yuck! Maybe I can catch up my visits this week. I think the kids are out on spring break here, too, so I won't have to wait till after school. Of course, some of them may be gone somewhere.

LOL...poor Nully.
That's what I was going to say. Maybe us northerners pay more for housing...but our wages are a lot higher too. My son is making a hell of a lot more money up north being an electrician than he could in most places in the south. Believe me...he's looked into it.
So the housing in most places is commensurate with the job scale. You don't gain much if you're just a working man.
To: null and void
Yeah. Now if y'all just had jobs available... The folks who own these homes have a job. LOL

I pulled into the crowded parking lot at the
Super Wal-Mart Shopping Center and rolled down the car windows to make sure my Labrador Retriever Pup had fresh air.
*
She was stretched full-out on the back seat and I wanted to impress upon her that she must remain there. I walked to the curb backward, pointing my finger at the car and saying emphatically,
"Now you stay. Do you hear me?"
"Stay! Stay!"
*
The driver of a nearby car, a pretty blond young lady, gave me a strange look and said,"Why don't you just put it in park?"
