John Williams is the composer.
The entire soundtrack from "The Mission."
(If what I just wrote makes you sad or angry,
Batman:
Seal - "Kiss From a Rose"
Haunting, Stirring, and Emotional.
good, and the spy who loved me.
Everything on the BB soundtrack was great.
Every one! I agree.
Ray Rocks!
The first one I thought of was the theme to the 1992 version of "Last of the Mohicans."
Last of the Mohicans and Brother Where Art Thou
You've got a good list there. I've always enjoyed the "Crimson Tide" and "Glory" themes.
It must be a generation thing. My pick:
Theme from A Summer Place
My wife likes the soundtrack from "What woman want"
I'm glad I read the posts first. I agree 100%.
I loved the movie, but the real reason I love the theme song is they played it every friday night as the modifieds were rolling out onto the track for the feature race at Stafford Motor Speedway. I went 12 years without missing a single race there, except for the time I crashed my motorcycle into a pine tree at around 60 miles per hour.
If you like any kind of racing, imagine being 8 years old seeing 35 of your childhood heroes pushing their 800 horsepower purebred race machines around a track in the era before race cars with mufflers and the faint sound of the Shaft theme as they warm up.
Every time I hear it I hrken back to the good old days and still get shivers of excitemtn running down my spine.
I like the theme music from Lonesome Dove and Silverado.
Also theme from Quigly Down Under.
Shaft was a complicated man.
Of course I was in my teens and in love when this film came out. That may cloud my memory a little bit.
I do like the theme from "Ice Castles".
Ballad of the Green Beret, I forget the name of the movie but it was a Great 'Nam movie shot while the war was still going on and John Wayne starred.
Dammit Owl! I already picked my ten and I completely FORGOT about OBWAT. We lost our CD for 3 months until we found it in another case. Immediately played Man of Constant Sorrow (as there are about 4 dif. versions on that CD) for the next two hours.
Unfortunately, my husband decided to keep singing to it. I love my husband, but he can only sing in the Key of Dean (Martin).
Since we're on this topic of music. If anyone in the Northeast Pennsylvania area has a hankerin' to go to a bar, and they see advertising for Eric and Jen Speraza Duo, don't do it. We stumbled in without knowing what we were in for. Great wings and food last night, but I wanted to stick ice-picks in my eardrums. In the dictionary, next to "Rhythmless and White" is a picture of: Eric and Jen Speraza.
If ERIC SPERAZA or JEN SPERAZA ever google themselves and see this, PLEASE DON'T QUIT YOUR DAY JOBS. A pity gig at the Chickin Coop if there ever was one. As we were running out screaming (figuratively on the screaming part) after dinner, Jen attempted "You Oughtta Know".
Jen, You Oughta Know, you can't sing. And you ain't doin' that great with a tambourine, either. You also made us lose our appetite. I havent had a doggie bag of leftover wings for a long time.
Rant almost over. I'm piffed because we never leave the house, and everytime we do with the expectation of getting out and meeting people and socializing, we walk right into a Curb your Enthusiasm situation.
Haven't had much time to think about it but I'll throw in "The Natural" and "Goldfinger".
P.S. I happened to love "Laura's Theme".
