God's Final Warning to America
Philo Logos.org ^ | 1998 | John McTernan

October 30, 1991:

President George Bush opens the Madrid Conference with an initiative for a Middle East peace plan involving Israel's land. On the same day, an extremely rare storm forms off the coast of Nova Scotia. (It was eventually tagged "The Perfect Storm," and a book and movie were made about it.) Record-setting 100-foot waves form at sea and pound the New England Coast, even causing heavy damage to President Bush's home in Kennebunkport, Maine.

August 23, 1992:

The Madrid Conference moves to Washington D.C. and the peace talks resume, lasting four days. On that same day, Hurricane Andrew-the worst natural disaster ever to hit America-produces an estimated $30 billion in damage and leaves 180,000 homeless in Florida.

January 16, 1994:

President Clinton meets with Syria's President Hafez el-Assad in Geneva. They talk about a peace agreement with Israel that includes giving up the Golan Heights. Less than 24 hours later, a powerful 6.9 earthquake rocks Southern California. This quake, centered in Northridge, is the second most destructive natural disaster to hit the United States, behind Hurricane Andrew.

March 1 to April 1997:

The combination of Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat touring America; Clinton rebuking Israel for not giving away her land for peace; and pro-abortion activity coincide with some of the worst tornadoes and flooding in U.S. history. On the very day Arafat lands in America, powerful tornadoes devastate huge sections of the nation, ripping across Texas, Arkansas, Mississippi, Kentucky and Tennessee. Arafat's American tour also coincides with the storms in the Dakotas, which result in the worst flooding of this century, in addition to weeks of major storms throughout the Midwest. Arafat finishes his tour and leaves the U.S. and the storms stop.

January 21, 1998:

Netanyahu meets with President Clinton at the White House and is coldly received. Clinton and Secretary of State Madeleine Albright refuse to have lunch with him. Shortly afterwards that day, the Monica Lewinsky scandal breaks into the mass media and begins to occupy a major portion of Clinton's time.

September 27-28, 1998:

Secretary of State Madeleine Albright works on the final details of an agreement in which Israel will give up 13 percent of the West Bank. The same day Hurricane Georges slams into the Gulf Coast with 110 m.p.h winds and gusts up to 175. The hurricane hits the coast and stalls. On September 28, Clinton meets with Arafat and Netanyahu at the White House to finalize the land deal. Later, Arafat addresses the United Nations about declaring an independent Palestinian state by May 1999, while Hurricane Georges pounds the Gulf Coast causing $1 billion in damage. At the exact time Arafat departs the U.S. the storm begins to dissipate.

October 15-22, 1998:

On October 15, 1998, Yasser Arafat and Benjamin Netanyahu meet at the Wye River Plantation in Maryland, to continue the talks, which ended on September 28. The talks are scheduled to last five days with the focus on Israel giving up 13 percent of the West Bank. The talks are extended and conclude on October 23. On October 17, awesome rains and tornadoes hit southern Texas. The San Antonio area is deluged with 20 inches of rain in one day. floods ravage 25 percent of Texas and leave over one billion dollars in damage. Clinton declares this section of Texas a major disaster area.

May 3, 1999:

This is the same day in Israel that Yasser Arafat is scheduled to declare a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as the capital. That same day, starting at 4:47 p.m. CDT, the most powerful tornado storm system ever to hit the United States sweeps across Oklahoma and Kansas. The winds are clocked at 316 m.p.h. the fastest wind speed ever recorded.

These are a few examples of the many "Act of God" events that coincide with the timing of the country's pressure on Israel to give up her land for peace.

If God wanted His will known, He would make it known without cryptic weather messages.
God isn't that limited IMO.

Now we ARE limited and to make the jump or conclusions that the weather is a sign of this or that is very much the ignorant kind of thing we do all the time historically.

Every generation also has believed they have lived in end times. At some point that will also be true, but we humans won't know that time for sure at all either because we are not God.

Pray God's will be done and trust in God, at most, that is what we CAN do.

You know the one thing that bothers me about many folks fixated on 'end times' and linking a spiritual message to a natural disaster?

They just seem giddy about it.

Lucky for you I just got out of the shower!

And now I'm going to sleep, which means some poor kid in Eastern Europe will forget to turn in his homework next week.

That describes every other Twilight Zone episode!

But now I really must call it a night. If I don't get enough sleep, somebody's dog will die, and I just can't let that happen.

Does this mean that since I'm Baptist again too, I need to revise my beliefs and draw the same conclusion that Arabs cause hurricanes?

So many rules, so little time! :^)

I'm still going to play Crazy 8's though, I don't care what Baptist doctrine says about card playing!

I think there is a sincere desire by Christians and Jews to want to do God's will and we believe that at some time we will be with Him in heaven.

I don't doubt the sincerity of some who claim they believe everything from weather to Christ on a tortilla as a sign from God. Bottom line is we are human and we ALL FALL SHORT.

No one has the secret message, knows the exact time of Christ's return or can even know for sure what every tomorrow will bring each of us. That is God's realm and it is with Him to let us know His will.

If He wants us to know His will, by golly He sure is the one to get that done, isn't He?

So all IMO we can do is to pray God's will be done and leave it with God. He's in charge, not us.

Man, wasn't that one of those episodes of Twilight Zone? You know, the one where the guy wakes up and everything is different, or something really weird happens to him? :-)

Every single episode of Twilight Zone has some "normal guy" as the lead character and everyone else is different. :)

I think so too, but you have to admit, Twilight Zone to this day is highly entertaining. :)

Yes, it is, mostly on the strength of the acting and in some cases, the writing (usually by Richard Matheson, but sometimes by others, and seldom by Rod).

I am in a minority of the SF fan community - I think about 5-7% of Twilight Zones are excellent and stand up proud against the best that series television has had to offer. That being said, the typical TW's story and punchline can usually be conveyed in under 30 seconds. Very often they stretched it to get to 30 minutes, and if you want an exercise in pain, try watching the TWs that expanded to an hour. I'm certain the US Government used those to crack soviet spies in the '60s. :-)

Serling is overrated, I have concluded. His stories are 30 seconds long. Once you know the basic gimmick, it's not difficult to predict the ending. People hail his dialog: I think it stinks. People talk 'at' each other and seldom authentically interact. Characters exchange brief speeches rather than converse. The speech is often too deliberate and stilted: by the time 20 minutes rolls around, it's stale.

Did you ever see his 1st draft for 'Planet of the Apes?' It suffered from a lot of what I have said above. Also he had the ape civilization almost exactly like our civilization: clothing, technology, etc. It was ditched and refined: in the final film, the apes are evocative of us. They are not like us, but they are like us; they have their own way of doing things, but it reminds us of the way we do things. That subtlety is beyond Serling's skill, I am afraid.

Still, Requiem for a Heavyweight is awesome. And some of his Zones are excellent. Usually the best Zones are not by Serling, though. I prefer The first season of Outer Limits (actually both seasons) as much better crafted science fiction. It hit the mark far more often than TZ did.

This puts me in a small minority, I understand. I just never worshiped at the temple of Serling.

Coincide Israel's pull out of Gaza with hurricane Katrina and the major influx of illegals in the southwestern USA.
It it a far stretch of imagine to think that ? since Israel had to give up Gaza ? the USA will have to give up parts of California, New Mexico, Arizona, and Texas to Mexico ?

The thing is ?

In passed HISTORY ( not the SIGNS of the END TIMES ) but, passed history, those who harmed, cursed, tried to invade, conquer Israel were in the end themselves were defeated, destroyed, or cursed by GOD.

God is very clear in scripture about those who may want or want to harm , destroy, or curse Israel, and what we seen in the passed centuries ago was God's protection of Israel.

And the USA is not exempt from God's judgment or cursing if the USA were to curse, ignore, abandon, or harm Israel.

If the USA blesses Israel, God will Bless the USA, if the USA curses Israel, God will curse the USA.

Genesis 12 (King James Version)
King James Version (KJV)

Genesis 12

1. Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee:

2. And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:

3. And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

When ever you cheat, harm, curse, ignore, invade, Israel, God will deal with you or anyone, or any nation who does.

GOD BLESS ISRAEL

It seems to me that if God were sending a message to someone regarding the existence of Israel, He'd be sending it to the despoilers, the Moslems, particularly the Arab Moslems -- storms, earthquakes, floods, volcanoes, asteroids, rains of locusts...

I still haven't gotten over how coincidental it was, when Bill Clinton was photographed bringing a Bible into church after the Monica Lewinsky scandal broke.
