OK, I got a gaming question. I am looking for a PC game (on-line or not) that is more or less just an exploration adventure game. I could care less about rabid weird creatures, fighting with 3D blood effects, but I just want an fun land adventure search game with minimum gore. Adventure without mass killing, also I hate sci-fi space ship senerios, I want lush landscapes.

Does such a docile creature exist? I do not own any game stations, just a computer.

Yeah, I am such a wuss, but I would pay good money for such a game if one existed.

I am not playing it, it looks like they are destroying Ebarron as well as messing up the mechanics involved in 3.5 D&D.

Of course I just played a 6 hr game as a Thor clone so take that as you will.

Yeah, Guild Wars is sort of an MMORPG. You do not pay a monthly fee but you pay for new content if you want to. The big thing about this game is that it is centered around guild vs. guild PvP battles.

By the way, mark me down as a gamer. I am not currently playing anything at the moment though. I am kind of in a gaming slump.

There are, of course, many other adventure games that are are not gore-soaked slug-fests. Monkey Island comes to mind. There was a cool film-noir style game a few years back starring a skeleton character named Manny (I think it had a Day of the Dead Mexico theme). Help with the name, Freepers?

Yeah, Guild Wars is sort of an MMORPG. You do not pay a monthly fee but you pay for new content if you want to. The big thing about this game is that it is centered around guild vs. guild PvP battles.

While it's true that GW has a PvP sytem it's a misconception that PvP is the greater part of the game. The PvE world is huge, 90% or more of the content is PvE only and I'll bet my Warrior/Necro that 50% or more who play the game would not if it weren't for the PvE.

I have zero PvP interest and still have over 250 hours in the game, it's that good. I put it in the action/rpg catagory with an online aspect. You can totally ignore people and do the whole game with hired henchman although some missions and quests are easier with PuG's but not by much. There are one or two missions that must have people but you can skip them and get the rewards elsewhere.

There hasn't been any new pay-for content yet although a new free zone and dungeon, Grenth's Footprint and Sorrow's Furnace has been released just recently.

You are right about the PVE portion of Guild Wars. I should of mentioned that. I picked it up mostly for the PvP part, although the PvE is good too.

Maybe I will start playing it again since I do not play WoW anymore.

You mean like the ones back before when graphics technology was capable of emulating death so well?

Me, I'm a FPS... but like you, I don't like gore(blood/guts), but I sure do love seeing bodies fly in response to a well placed tank round. (is that still gore?)

Anyway, I do appreciate your quest for SOMETHING DIFFERENT!

I still have not bought the II version. Too hung up on GW still.

Go out and get it now. Its expansion packs, Bloodmoon and Tribunal, are optional.

You will ADORE it. It's the most immersive game I've ever played.

Bacon can testify to its power. He used to get up early before work so he could play.

I played through twice, once early right out of the box and once after the expansions and used the mods on the site.

I play Half-Life/Science & Industry a couple of times a week. Look for "stumpy" on one of the eight or so servers that host SI. I've also been known to play a mean "dustbowl" in TFC...

PS2 only. Man is it something, too. I didn't pay much attention to it until a few months ago, and now I know why they call it So-crack. There is nothing like nailing a terrorist in the head with a SR-25 long shot.

I checked out rox, but didn't see anyone there either.
You can find me there on JL FREQUENTLY... usually late.

I don't remember the ping, but it didn't seem real active so I split. I've been following my team mates around to different servers lately. Rox is never occupied for some reason. I'll try to hook up with ya.

Thats one the things i like about it.
I seem to really enjoy a relatively low number of players, and doing 1 on 1 types of engagements. Once a few people do join, that server will fill up pretty quick. They normally dont use voip there to help with lag, and use teamspeak instead. If we play there regularly, I think they will let us use their TS server, and give us access on an individual basis as they have with me. Anyway, I practice there a LOT... very cool bunch of guys... (and gal).

Probably, but my M14 always seems to recoil straight from the first shot at chest level to aim at the head. Actually, the .50's on Socom are much more fun to play with. So real, you can almost taste the sh** on shingles.

Yes. It's an old game from Steam Networks. Funny as heck. Amazing it's still played. It comes bundled with Half life 2. I have played it since 1999!
