Ever stuck a Lego up your Nose (real life vanity)
Self | 10-21-05 | Myself

Today we had to take my middle boy for surgery.

Seems my 4 y/o decided to stuff a lego up his left nostril. I could not fish it out, our peditrician couldn't fish it out, so surgery was the only option.

I guess it only is fair, as a 4 y/o I managed to plug my left ear with a piece of popcorn, that once swelled looked like a tumor.

BTW.. All is well tonight... After a few hours of recovery, my son was released and seems to be doing fine.

The lego's have been locked up for now.

Sorry, but I'm LOL about this. Luckily my kids never had anything stick, but there's just something about a nose that little kids are just compelled to stick things up 'em.

The son of a friend of mine once stuck a pinto bean up his nose, and didn't tell anybody about it until it came back out about a week after he'd done it. IIRC, he was four, also.

My older sister did this same thing to my younger sister back in the 60's - fortunately, surgery wasn't necessary to remove the mis-placed Lego ... but it sure had my parents worried. They took my younger sister to the Army pediatrician, who got the lego removed from her nose. We talked about that for years afterward ....

No, but I have seen men with tape recorders up their noses.

And Ears. Kids are amazing at getting stuff into small bodily orifices.

Cute little kid, even if he is a little upset.

When my sis and I were teenagers we were polishing our nails, with my then 3 year old little nephew in the room watching cartoons on TV. The phone rang, and as teenagers do we both raced for the phone, leaving him alone. When we got back into the room, he'd painted his face and hands with nail polish, thankfully missing his eyes!

Beans are best. Kid down the street (where I grew up) was about 8 years old and he stuffed beans up his nose and managed to plug up his sinuses with them

They did surgery of some kind. Then he did it again.

No, but when I was around 4, I was lying on the floor holding a glass marble in the air and dropped it. It rolled straight down my throat and I swallowed it.

Poor kid, and poor you! When I was a kid I watched my brother take a flying leap off the roof of our house in his Superman cape. He looked so cool -- he had the Superman flying pose down to an art. The look on his face when the cape obeyed the laws of gravity was priceless. Two broken arms, and I used to tell this story to all his high school girlfriends.

When my son was 2, he stuck a cherry pit up his nostril. Everyone panicked except him. He was too young to know how to blow his nose so we had to wait awhile for it to work it's way out. :-)

I'm glad your son is okay!

Lordy, I just pray my boy is not as stubborn as I was. I am paying for my raising.

We also waited after the initial doctor visit but somehow during the night my boy must of went fishing and pushed it deeper in his nose, thus assuring sugery today.

How come no one saw this happen? That took some time and effort to get that up his nose.

Your poor boy!

My daughter stuck a bead up her nose when she was 2. I got it out with a pair of tweezers.
