I hate to break this to you, but your beagle hates being called Rosebud. She (I hope it's a she) wants a more studly name. Thatcher, for example. Named for England's Iron Lady. Or Joanuvarc. A heroic name. Cleopatra would be a great name for a female cat.

Calling her Cleo for short would be fine.

I have to hand it to you, though. Cujo for a cat's name is awesome.

Actually, the name Rosebud fits her to a T...She is a sweet little girl beagle and was born on the 4th of July. Our son, who was 13 at the time, thought that was the name of a firecracher and he was the one who named her. We found later out the name was from a matchbook, but it was perfect for her and the name stuck. She is the sweetest little dog. She's 11-1/2 years old now and is still our little sweetie (besides being a beagle, which means barking, baying and getting herself sick eating things she's not supposed to.) The name fits her perfectly. We'll miss her dearly when she's gone.
