Boy, Robitussin DM has worked for me and my family for years.
There is a certain kind of cough it doesnt work for. But we have prescription syrup for that.

Despite the billions of dollars spent every year in this country on over-the-counter cough syrups, most such medicines do little if anything to relieve coughs, the nation's chest physicians say.
Maybe, but at least a good quantity of NyQuil will put you in a coma so you won't know you're coughing all night.

This is the only one I use now. It works GREAT for me. And it contains "Dextromethorphan" which is the ingredient in Robitussin that makes it effective and safe. :)
