:( My 10 year olds 2 favorite ones were sent home last night. She loved Bobby and Gideon. I didn't like Bobby but Gideon can really sing. Even though he talks like Jesse Jackson.

Cause she can sing or cause you like looking at her??? :) I liked Gideon too. He was always in my top 4 with the guys. I hope he gets something because I would buy a record of his. I really don't like any of the girls except for Mandisa. Katharine can sing but I think she's fake like Pickler.

Yes!! They come in a ton of colors. There is another one called "Ice" that is a very 50's looking turquoise that is my 2nd choice.

I don't know about that. It was beginning to come across that Idol was just one item on a very long resume.

She's overall one of the most accomplished and hard-working contestants they've ever had. But, I think lots of people vote for someone who might be slinging hamburgers or whatever if it weren't for Idol.

Notice her speech? It wasn't about the opportunity to meet varied and wonderful people, or gratitude for this thrilling experience. It was pretty much about her and her feelings.

I don't think she was the most likeable person for many. She's tall, athletic, smart, depending on your taste-good looking, hard working and Mom and Dad are successful. In short, why vote for someone like her? She actually surprised me with her singing ability and you can tell that she has worked hard. Long term she will turn out well in life given that she is not a slacker. Good luck to the guy she marries as he is going to have to have it going on.

And, how else is a 17 year old girl supposed to act? For once we got to see someone express some feelings.

By the way, look at the American Idol boards from the show and a lot of people voted Melissa as a "screw you" to Simon for his ugly comment to her.

I like Melissa better than Pickler and Paris by the way.

I think Katharine is fake too!!!! I don't like her, she can sing but something about her makes me a little naseous. You know you mentioned how Simon said there were some who were not nice this year and for some reason I think it is Pickler and Katharine he was referring to. I think it is all on the women's side. The only girl I like who I believe is genuine is Mandisa, the rest seem too catty. Of course I probably sound catty writing that. :)

I think that was Palladin who mentioned the Simon interview where he said that many of the contestants seem nice, but are actually very cut-throat. But I had the same impression you did- Pickler. Then, once I saw how tight Pickler and Katherine are I started to think it may apply to her, too. Last night as the show was closing they were huddled on the end of the stage together. If they hugged or interacted with anyone else I missed it.

I also agree about Mandisa. She seems the only really genuine woman. I think Lisa maybe genuine, too, but her personality doesn't radiate out like Mandisa. She's a bit more reserved. She may open up more as the show continues.
