And now for tonight’s Dinklemeyer bonus.

This strip and the next one (that will be run Friday) are I suppose what I can call the first official “story” (the story runs for more than one strip). And I can also say that despite that milestone, this strip and the next one are my two least favorite Dinklemeyers.

The idea sounded good at the time, and was based on real-life speculation. I introduced a character named Stephanie, who is good-looking and popular and secretly likes Freddy. But Freddy is not only too shy to talk to her, he is also unaware of her crush.

The first panels in this one really show the melancholic nature of the strip at the time. It was more about loneliness and poignancy amidst High School angst. Later on, the strip will take a sharp turn into goofiness, but we’re not there, yet.

Stephanie seemed like a good idea, but I wasn’t good enough at drawing at this point to really include 2 hot girls (the other one, Karen, didn’t work out either). People who read this would tell me she looked more like an alien than anything.

The idea never went anywhere. Stephanie only appeared in one later strip, then was gone along with Karen.

Yes, I did mean to direct that one to you. Messed up, I guess?? ANyhoo, I can send you the video, if you want it. if you like weird all, and remember Devo, you WILL like this one!!

Had a GREAT week last week, workwise.Worked 4 days, probably will again this week. Making more, for working less hours, than ever before. I have the fondest respect from the owners, too. They buy me lunch too!! The wife is even trying to curb her using God's name in vain around me.

If only they weren't so darn liberal!! Somehow, the owners wife got a preview copy of "fudgepack mountain", to see, from a friend!! I thought to say something, but I will wait till she sees it, in all of it's glory, and THEN ask, "how did you like seeing two guys humping each other"? At least,I know they are NOT for "Partial birth abortion", that issue has already reared it's head, and we all agree it is murder!!

P.S.-- I don't think I am going to be lonely for much longer, either.

This is REALLY looking like it is going to be a different, GRAET year!! God has already moved a lot, and in a a SHORT time, too!! Now, if the Templeton foundation calls or emails me soon, about my script--and says they like it and it is in the finals, and it take top honors, and such- THAT will make this a year like NO other, so far, even better than my "glory year" --1984-- my favorite year,to date!!

Ironically, that was the year I was born.

I hope things go that good for me too this year. I'm glad everything's looking up for you. If anyone tells me prayer doesn't work...

I came across a job opening recently that I think I have a good chance of getting. I go to church with a lady who works at the company. She has told me that the only way to get a job there is to know someone who works there as she does. She said if I give her my resume and have her submit it to the hiring managers, it's an almost guarantee I'll get it.

So, we'll see how that goes. I'm eager as can be.

Hey,Paul Long time no see!! We had a GOOD singles discussion last week, no flames, really, either.(The sharks must have been in Vegas or something). We played"name that tune and movie quote"-- I think I came out on top. Having a VERY good memory is NOT always a god thing, however.

You might want to try Conservativematch.com. It is a singles site, where "conservatives" go to meet each otter(there is a quiz, to show how conservative someone is), and it is free to join, and see if someone is interested. Once you get some "bites", you an pay the membership fee, and "chat" with those who find you appealing. I have been a free member for about a month or so, and have a couple of good prospects ,one in particular. I am about ready to "go full", so I can chat with some people, including one who accepted my "friendship" invitation. It is a LOT better than Yahoo, which I have been with (mostly on the free part) for nearly 2 years, with little success. Maybe you should give it a try??

Whoo-hoo! Another freeptoon out. I haven't posted much here on FR due to college and time constraints. But I have always enjoyed seeing your cartoons and showing them to my family. They got an especially big kick out of the Zawahiri 'toon.

Keep up the good work man, you've got a growing, loyal pack of fans here on FR

LOVE your Martin Sheen!!!!!!!!!! Hate Martin Sheen, though. LOL. You're hitting yourself too hard! But your "self portrait" is excellent- well done!!!!!!!!!!!

You definitely have a career ahead of you. Chin up.

You're hitting yourself too hard!

If you can't laugh at yourself, who can you laugh at?
