And now for tonights Dinklemeyer bonus:
This is my least favorite of the Dinklemeyers. Nevertheless, fairness dictates that I run it anyway.
This was the first real story I did, meaning that what happened in the first strip continued over into the next one.
The character of Stephanie was a hot girl whom secretly had a crush on Freddy, but he was completely clueless (although readers would tell me that she really looked more like an alien than hot). It wasnt a bad idea, but it just never went anywhere. She made one other appearance in a future strip, and that was it for her.
In this strip, a lot of people are confused by Freddys dialogue. What it is is that hes so shy and nervous when she tries to talk to him, he mumbles and babbles incoherently. Ou thee = you see.
Stephanie didnt work out, but the strip was still very young at this point. I was toying with ideas and introducing new characters. When you draw a regular cartoon series, its interesting to see how a whole world is created almost by itself. More regular characters will be introduced from here, and in my opinion, the rest of the strip only goes up and up in quality.
No, I was only hurt on the inside. I mean, emotionally, not internally. That was my first car. I had had it five years and going. I loved that thing. It was an '85 Blazer, deep blue color. *Sigh*...
For the delivery job, I had to borrow my Mom's car. She was none-too-thrilled.
Kids. Sheesh.
Always doing crazy things like wrecking cars & going off to war.:)
Good job. Thanks!
When I had the wreck, Mom and Dad had left home. They were off somewhere at an appointment. Mom had her cell phone but I didn't know her number (she probably had it turned off anyway). So the officer had to drive me home and leave me there. Since I gave my keys to the towing people, I couldn't get into the house.
For many hours, I had to just sit there waiting.
When they finally got home, it was strange: it's like Mom was relieved I was okay while wanting to strangle me at the same time. And telling them I had been hired to a job was icing on the cake.
Oh, hey, tulip. How are you?
That must've been hard for you, sitting & waiting & knowing you had to deliver the news. Yikes.
I remember when my brother wrecked the family car. My Dad was so cool about it; didn't even yell or anything. My bro. walked away without a scratch & I think my Dad was just so relieved he didn't even care about the car; not only that, but he knew my brother was punishing himself with guilt anyway, so why pile on.
G'night pc, time for this old lady to get some sleep.:)
I'm fine. How are you doing? :-)
I'll just answer on the singles thread.
Oh dear, not good.
Anyway, I'm off to bed - goodnight P!!
Nice talking, I_T.
Got your Freepmail but will answer tomorrow, I'm headed to bed soon and my thinking ability right now is a bit clouded and I have to collect my thoughts anyhoo. Just wanted to drop you a line and tell you that I'm thinking about it. B-) Plus my calico cat (born in 1987) is pestering me to feed her. B-)
I look forward to it.
What? No new posts?
I'm surprised at y'all.
What's so surprising to me is what she can get away with. I mean, the press has never been friendlier to ANY politician before her. It's ominous. She could do anything with zero criticism (except from here, of course).
I guess I'd better get to slappin' this one on the archives.
LOL
