And now for tonights Dinklemeyer:
<
It felt kind of weird after 9/11 to try to continue with ordinary life; a strange shadow hangs over everything. Nevertheless, I pressed onward.
Here, I continued to introduce the talking pig. Im also establishing that hes not as smart as he acts. This is the first of many bacon jokes involving him. Hey, pigs invite bacon jokes upon themselves. Im not sure why his arm is extended in the first panel: thats just how he came out.

As usual, I will mention that the full FReeptoons archives is at the bottom of my home page.
Enjoy.

I usually only despise young folks with talent.
To: Tijeras_Slim
Is there a subtle hint being sent there?

I don't think I've ever been called subtle. I'm usually considered a bitter middle aged curmudgeon.

Hey P! Great cartoon. Al is an ugly snot. Good job.
To: pcottraux
"tired of failed radio and looting charities".
"make really great bacon".

He doesn't run for Senator, but in a later story, he does become president of a major corporation.

I thought about that idea you pinged me to that someone else had. But then I heard that Al Franken wanted to run for Senator and I had to jump on it.

Thanks. Glad you found it.
I love to see his liberal self-image being shattered in the last panel.

That's the downside of drawing political cartoons. Sometimes you have the best idea in the world, but you never get to use it because it goes irrelevant too quickly. Or a more topical news story will show up that you can't resist.
