If governments aren't going to logically focus on and throw the book at stupid, irresponsible & quite often 'white trash' dog-owners then they may as well simply kill at least half of the dogs within their jurisdictions immediately!
So-called 'pit bulls' (hello! there's no such breed!):
an important part of every liberal's politically correct hate list along with SUV's, smokers, gun-owners, men in general & fathers in particular, etc, etc, etc ....
BTW & as per usual, there's nothing quite like a good 'pit bull' thread to bring out every statist, fascist bully & thug masquerading as a conservative on FR out from under their respective rocks!
Some breeds have a worse track record of attacks than others.
It isn't because people report pit bull attacks but don't report Cocker Spaniel attacks that pit bulls have the reputations they do. There are a lot more pit bull attacks than Cocker Spaniel attacks. It's just the way it is.
Horse breeds have different temperaments, and so do dogs.
So do different breeds of humans, actually, but there's a minefield we will merely note without entering into.
Which means, of course, that "pit bulls" don't really exist. They're just a particularly nasty figment of the imagination. And the chewed up kids, adults, and animals they regularly snack on are really the victims of mysteriously brutal self-inflicted injuries. Correct?
I totally agree, let's ban stupid people who own genetically unstable fighting breeds.
Let's start with eliminating the dogs in the breed that are responsible for more human and animal death and injury than any other breed.
You know which breed and mix that is.
If private insurance companies would simply refuse homeowners' insurance to anyone with a pit, that would send a very strong message to these manhood-deficient knuckledraggers.
So this cow was attacked by what, exactly? Apparently even the owner of these dogs thinks they were pit bulls.
Okay. I would like to know the proper name of these so-called pit bulls. I was often defending them, because the ones I had known were very nice dogs. My children would play with the dog next door and so would my labrador. Then, he started jumping the fence out of his yard. He would always come back bloodied. Last December he came back after two weeks. One of the first things he did was attack a little dog walking down the sidewalk. I had to call animal control and contact the owner of the dead little dog. Animal control talked to my neighbor, but wouldn't do anything about the dog unless he hurts a person. Have heard he had killed one other dog on another street and almost killed another. Until recently he had been chained up. He's been off the chain less and less. He still is very friendly to my dog (we have a chain link fence), but I do not trust him.
Apples and oranges, buddy.
I agree. Dogs that are not dangerous and are among the most affectionate and reliable of breeds are being classed as "pit bulls". This is outrageous. Irresponsible dog owners are guilty of animal cruelty and should be punished accordingly. Any breed of dog will bite if not properly handled and socialised.
