For your bookmarking assistance, this is a reference list of links to the Aug 2006 or newer Free Republic threads on the topic of the JonBenet Ramsey murder case and the possible arrest of John Mark Karr as a suspect in her murder.
You may be right. But not if she died within minutes of the head injury. It's the same argument being used about the ligature, that there was no head swelling b/c she died after being choked. Same argument here. If the blow killed her, no swelling.
I agree that I don't think it was a bat now. That should have left plenty of external bleeding and clearly didn't...no laceration.
Yes, we do know that it was the cause of death. It's listed on the autopsy report as the cause. She had petechial hemorhages on her face, eyelids, eyes caused by it. Yes, her head was also bashed in, but craniel trauma doesn't cause petechial hemorhages, strangling does.
LOL...this is never ending, isn't it...
I should have said, I agree IN that I don't think it was a bat, now.
Yep, just like the trial will probably be. That's what's amazing about this case - there's no end in sight!
You may be right. We discussed that earlier but many, including people in that profession, interpreted the cause of death as being from BOTH strangulation and head trauma. They seem to think that the coroner's report was inconclusive about it. The relevant quote from the autopsy report was posted a ways back on this thread, but it states that both were causes of death.
The cause of death as listed in the autopsy report was:
"Cause of death of this six year old female is asphyxia by strangulation associated with craniocerebral trauma".
Many pathologists have interpreted that as, "he didn't really know for sure which, or if both, actually caused death".
If he hadn't said that, I'd put "accident" in the possible file.
Her death was an accident? So she was just supposed to be just o.99% strangled and not dead and be a vegetable....because he had caught off her oxygen long enough.
I heard it yesterday but don't know the truth of the matter. Think it started with a rumor. Something about using a scalpel from the previous autopsy. However, I believe it can be separated.
Boy, am I tired. Lotsa mistakes in my last post but I hope you get the idea.
Per CourtTV
The movie and book deal has been sealed per the Karr family.
"Silent Rage" sounds like a good book/movie title to me. Is it taken??
But ...but....bu They're only doing it for John....SO he can pay his attorney fees. (Gee, I thought everyone was going to work pro bono for the publicity!)
just heard on both CNN and FNC -it looks like the fingernail DNA has been "excluded" - it was contaminated by unclean nail clippers used during autopsy to recover the sample.
the only DNA left is in the underwear.
Lee, Baden and Cyril Wecht - these 3 guys are solid, and Henry Lee was involved with the case.

Are they just now figuring that out after 10 years.....what about the 2 drops of blood?.....
the nail clippers were contaminated - that's the story at least.
Nancy Grace will be discussing this on her show tonight....
