LOS ANGELES - Country singer Sara Evans on Thursday announced she was filing for divorce and quitting the “Dancing With the Stars” television competition.

Evans filed for divorce from Craig Schelske in Williamson County, Tenn., where she lives, according to a statement issued by Allen Brown, her representative at Sony BMG Music Entertainment.

"Those countries with legal prostitution have little violent sex crime of any kind.." "It happens that this occurs much more frequently here....not there...."

Here is an example of the current "little violent sex crimes" that are happening in Germany. It seems that your definition of "little" is well....disturbing.

High profile crimes and scandals

There was a murder of six persons in an exclusive brothel in Frankfurt am Main in 1994. The Hungarian couple managing the place as well as four Russian prostitutes were strangled with electric cables. The case was resolved soon after: it was a robbery gone bad, carried out by the boyfriend of a woman who had worked there.

In 2003, Michael Friedman, popular TV talk show host and assistant chairman of the German Jewish community, became embroiled in an investigation of trafficking in women. He had been a client of several escort prostitutes from Eastern Europe who testified that he had repeatedly taken and offered cocaine. After receiving a fine for the drug charge, he resigned his posts.

Also in 2003, well-known artist and art professor Jörg Immendorff was caught in the luxury suite of a Düsseldorf hotel with seven prostitutes (and four more on their way) and some cocaine. He received 11 months on probation and a fine for the drug charges. He attempted to explain his actions by his "orientalism" and his terminal illness.

Congressman Accuses Germany of "Complicity in Promoting Sex Trafficking" (UPDATE)

Posted by Joerg W in Transatlantic Relations on Tuesday, May 23. 2006

Congressman Christopher Smith, chairman of the human rights subcommittee, held a hearing to investigate Germany's World Cup Brothels, because "40,000 women and children [are] at risk of exploitation through trafficking":

An estimated 3 million fans from around the world will attend the games, and vast numbers of them are expected to buy sex as a form of entertainment. As many as 40,000 additional women are expected to be added to the approximately 400,000 women in Germany’s sex industry. Germans are accommodating the trade in women by facilitating the construction of mega-brothels and "sex huts," and cities hosting the games will issue special permits for street prostitution, creating a virtual partnership with brothel owners, pimps and traffickers.....

This year, thousands of teenage girls, very few past the age of consent, will arrive in Germany from Turkey for arranged marriages and lives of domestic servitude enforced by tradition, isolation and fear. It's a thriving one-way trade that has been going on for more than three decades, and it sits at the core of Europe's greatest predicament today: the widening gulf between an increasingly postmodern society and its often premodern immigrants.

Stopping human trafficking was one of the reasons that Germany legalized prostitution. The logic was that by legitimizing the trade, it would become safer and healthier. But a United Nations report on human trafficking released last month still rated Germany "very high" as a destination for women forced into sex work, and some of those who supported legalization are reconsidering.

I am a Christian who thinks the voes to cleave only onto him or her as long as you both shall live are real vows.

You don't.

Porn is cheating. Anything that involves not turning to your spouse is.

Dancing is my only 'guilty pleasure' TV watching. My wife and I dance (mostly Latin but any Ballroom works for us) and we get a kick out of seeing how some folks really improve over the course of the show.

However, we were tempted to turn it off Tuesdy because although it was two Latin dance forms none of the music was Latin. There was a real audio-visual disconnect. You just don't rhumba to George Michael.

I am against all cheating. But it's primarily men who do.

That's a pretty tepid response, considering how you have pretty much insulted every man on the planet who has ever seen a bare breast of a woman other than his wife. Where's the outrage against these women? Aren't they, too, "Clinton lovers"? Where's the condemnation of the women who read the bodice-rippers? The women who pant over Mel Gibson? Or who have a fantasy about Brad Pitt?

You have no idea what the word "cleave" means, do you?

Thank you.....

Drives me nuts to see something danced to the wrong music.

You are not a judge - there is only 1 Judge and He's the only one we have to answer to.

Please don't. Whatever point you may be trying to make, however valid - please don't misuse this passage. It is done far too often. If you want to make a point about how people should treat sinners compassionately - fine. But don't, for ONE MOMENT, attempt to use this passage to assert that we aren't to try make any determination about what is "sinful".

But since he's a real man he doesn't. We've had problems and we've worked them out. We almost did divorce 3 years ago but guess what being moral human beings we went to counseling. Neither turned to other people

Interesting....

I'm glad you worked out your problems.

Just a note, King David committed adultery and murder yet he was punished yet forgiven by God. He was also called a man after God's own heart.

I notice that you are praying for a lot of people on this thread. I will pray as well, that whatever has made you so bitter and unforgiving will be removed from your heart. Going through life with so much rage will eat you up inside and is bad for your physical and spiritual health.

I know what you mean. I've only had a few weeks of lessons myself, but some of the music choices on the show are just plain bizarre for the dance being done! (Phantom of the Opera for the Paso?!?!?!)

I thought the general consensus around here was that the wife should stay home with kids.

One could argue that the lifestyle, tax bracket that this couple is/was in, would make it possible for one parent to be 'at home' and caring for the children at all times (I would guess Sara Evans doesn't tour all year). In the case of this couple, the wife was obviously the primary wage earner...is there a problem with that? Your original post, IMO, blames Ms. Evans exclusively for the demise of her marriage (due to her not being at home to 'take care of her husband') and doesn't address the provoclivities of the soon-to-be ex husband.

They bring children from the 3rd world there for the purpose of this porn.

No, the third world people take the pics and sell them to the highest bidder, or deal with a intermediary. Many of the dealers are Americans, yet is we who think it is they who corrupt us.

Many of these operations have been shut down, but like drugs, there is another to take their place.

The only reason Europe gets the rap, is that a computer terminal was used to transmit to buyers, just as on EBAY. The buyers are in the U.S. and they are being tracked and apprehended as they appear.

The market is quite small however and most child porn is not child porn at all. It is often falsely represented as such by law enforcement, and the sellers. Some of it is sickeningly real however.

Just as Foley did not engage in anything illegal as the Page, or Pages were of the age of consent, yet I see all sorts of charges made that he is a pedophile. He cannot be charged for that violation yet I see this charge made everyday here.

Your, and others understanding of this subject matter leaves a lot to be desired. I think you may want to look into that.

It is amusing to me that anytime the word porn is used, the thread turns into a joke. But that is your problem, not mine.

The husband is obviously off his rocker. Who in their right mind would cheat on that, or chose porno over that? If I had a woman like that, I would never look at another woman for the rest of my life. What a loser.

I agree, she's absolutely gorgeous... However, who was it that once said, "she can be the most beautiful woman on the planet. But somewhere, some guy is sick of her s**t!"

But that's what marriage counciling and divorce is for: There's never any justification for adultery.
