DailyTech spends more quality time with NVIDIA's upcoming GeForce 8800GTX
NVIDIA is set to launch its upcoming G80 GeForce 8800GTX and 8800GTS graphics cards next week, however, DailyTech snagged a GeForce 8800GTX board to run a couple quick benchmarks on. The GeForce 8800GTX used for testing is equipped with 768MB of GDDR3 video memory on a 384-bit memory bus as previously reported. Core and memory clocks are set at 575 MHz and 900 MHz respectively. Other GeForce 8800 series features include 128-bit HDR with 16x anti-aliasing and NVIDIAs Quantum Physics Engine.
Previous NVIDIA graphics cards in single card configurations were limited to lower levels of anti-aliasing. With the GeForce 8800 series, users can experience 16x anti-aliasing with only a single card. DailyTech has verified the option is available in the NVIDIA control panel.

didn't it come out sometime ago that this was a flawed design? Nvidia is mounting more gpus and not dealing with bottleneck issue or something like that. they're just upping the competition. I got out of keeping up with video cards a long time ago. it seems there's a new "bestest" card every 3 months or so.. just crap.
There used to be a Freeper's gamers ping list... did it die? Please add me to your ping list sir.

PING ME!
LOL
Safrguns used to run it, but it was never a news ping list.
He still has it on his homepage, but I'm not sure if he updates it anymore.
I'm not sure where you heard that. Putting more processors on a single chip is the general direction that the industry is moving nowadays.
They do release a lot more cards than they used to, though. Generally, I figure that it's worth upgrading every two generations. My current card is a 6600, so I'll probably get whatever 8000 sells for around $200.
I'm still using a GE FX5200 from 4 years ago...LOL
There have been a lot of remixed videos posted at Xbox360fanboy.com with new music added.
Me, too... 256MB. Still, it does pretty well with Half-Life 2.
Well I am game for new card... Oblivion just didn't play at all for me over lowest setting... 256 APG (think that was abbreviation for my slot and I could only use 4X speed...
I need to update bad... I want graphics on Oblivion bad...
I've got a 256MB 7800GS AGP...definitely helps with BF2...
I'd like to play around with Oblivion some more with higher graphics settings too. Of course, I've already dumped around 100 hours into it, but some of those environments really do look beautiful on max settings.
768 MB of memory! Wow. Whatever happened to the 512 cards? I'm not aware of any game that can actually take advantage of 512 megs, let along 768.
Will this card run direct x10?
Unused power of the X1900XT video card is being used by folders to fight Alzheimer's, Cancer, and Mad Cow (BSE). Join about 200 other FReepers here http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/1721959/posts
Did you see you can line up three of those Bad boys?
Just DAMN.
Yep, this is going to be the first x10 video card on the market.
