Sounds like that clip I posted yesterday was some of the stronger material, god help us:
This show was meant to be a conservative version of “The Daily Show.” It is a botch.
“The 1/2 Hour News Hour” does not comment on what is happening; it simply takes swipes at people. These people include Howard Dean, Hillary Clinton, Dennis Kucinich, Barack Obama and Ed Begley Jr. Other joke topics are the ACLU, Time magazine, children’s books and global warming.
Laughter, of an awfully canned variety, greets all the gags. Nothing happening on screen justifies these outbursts.
Hey, I’m all for a good dig at the high and the mighty. But these satirists fall short of hitting their targets with wit, timeliness or punch…
Fox News Channel will offer a second episode at 10 p.m. March 4. If we’re lucky, we’ll never hear of this dreadful show again.
Even discounting for the presumed anti-FNC liberal bias of the reviewer, it’s a pan. Which brings us to our exit question, per an e-mail exchange I was privy to this morning involving bloggers who shall remain nameless: with this show poised to do for conservative humor what “Pink Lady and Jeff” did for variety, is it better if Fox just pulls the trapdoor and walks away whistling?
Update: False flag!
The new FoxNews’ show is, because it is playing on an ostensibly all-news network, is thus compelled to follow Tina Fey’s mistake, albeit with even weaker material. Material so weak, in fact, that one suspects the writers are all liberals deliberately sabotaging the show, or so horribly out of touch with conservative opinion as to have no real idea what a conservative might find funny, or — likeliest of all — convinced conservatives are abject morons who will not get a joke unless it’s seltzer-down-the-pants woca-woca-woca sledgehammer obvious.
Hey Charles...
Congratulations! This may be your 15 minutes. LOL!
All kidding aside, this is a great opportunity for
conservatives to "work it". I'm proud of you for
making a contribution (of sorts).

I liked the one where they took an old episode of The Cisco Kid and dubbed new dialogue over it. Classic.
Endangered Parking Lots ... good satire, and funny
in a "this could really happen" sort of scarey way.
Penn & Teller are funny, but too foul to watch.
That just plain SUCKED. I didn't even watch all of it.
I have a similar idea for "Media Circus." It would use the scene from Spartacus where the Roman general asks the defeated slave army to turn over Spartacus or all the slaves would be put to death. Kirk Douglas steps forwards and says, "I am Spartacus." Then one after another other slaves proclaim, "I am Spartacus" until there is one huge cacophony from the slave army repeating "I AM SPARTACUS!"
Okay, in my dubbed version, the Roman general asks the slave army to identify the father of Anna Nicole Smith's baby. Kirk Douglas steps forward and proclaims, "I am the father!" The rest of the slave army follows suit until we hear them all yelling, "I AM THE FATHER!!!"
Maybe that's the point!
Is she still dead?
No. Sorry I wasn't more clear. I haven't seen it. I was just noting that even if the guys comments were indeed correct that it sounds like a mirror version of the Daily Show. And I doubt he criticized the Daily Show. That's all I meant.
Gotcha. I just wanted to include you in the
conversation because of your observation about
the reviewer. Seems to me there's a whole lotta
"sour grapes" causing a pucker over this new
comedy show. Better to wait, before judging.
The sketch is funny as ell!
The snippet they showed yesterday on H&C was awful, and that canned laughter was unbearable. I hope that wasn't a highlight.
We are now in day 7 of all day breaking news of various aspects of Anna Nichole Smith's death, life, baby, son, husband, boyfriends, money.
I know, it's disgusting, isn't it? I've been firing off e-mails left and right to FNC, and have not received even one reply. What put me over the edge was when FNC shoved the excellent "War Stories with Oliver North" to the 10pm ET time slot, and stuck Whorealdo's sleazy, trash-filled show in the 8pm prime time slot.
I still cannot believe two polar opposites such as Brit Hume and Geraldo Riviera are on the same FNC payroll...
Please FReepmail me if you want on or off my FoxFan list. *Warning: This can be a high-volume ping list at times.
I just watched it. I thought it was funny, too!
Thanks for the ping!
I'm giving it a chance.....the Rush and Ann Coulter clip was hilarious, and this was funny too. It's good to see the Dems made fun of in the same way Repubs have been made fun of for years.
Of course it's juvenile, half the population has an IQ under 95. That's why the Daily Show is a hit.
[...half the population has an IQ under 95. That's why the Daily Show is a hit...]
You can always be relied upon to offer a prescient observation. Good job Hun.
:)
Did you send Fox your resume yet?
