They swab the cheeks of strangers and pluck hairs from corpses. They travel hundreds of miles to entice their suspects with an old photograph, or sometimes a free drink. Cooperation is preferred, but not necessarily required to achieve their ends.

Genealogy can become very addictive and the drive to find your long lost ancestors can make you crazy. I haven’t resorted to the DNA testing ... but I’ve thought about it.

I’m impatiently waiting for my brother to decide to participate in a DNA study for our family line. I’d dearly love to clear up the questions we have!

Alas, cornered in his garage, Ms. Teat’s quarry refused to listen to her pitch.

So much to say. So many ways to get banned.

I thought about it, and will probably eventually do it...just out of curiosity...Met my hubby because of doing genealogy research...For me, it adds another depth to my fascination with history...for others, well we all have our reasons why we want to do it.

“that buffalo is a she”

That I am! No, I want my brother to do the DNA testing because it will narrow down the family line to one line instead of the half dozen we have run through!

I spent several years doing my family research and decided that I wasn’t quite crazy enough and started on my husbands. That all started about 20 years ago. I always new my hubby was a pain in the rear, but we found out that he was a ROYAL pain in the rear through research.
