Happy Thanksgiving all! I could watch it a hundred times and I'd still laugh out loud on #101. WKRP Turkey Drop
was the cover... of the March 21, 1966 issue of Newsweek--
And I didn't even know... she was destine to be Bailey Quarters at WKRP!
Thanks, made me laugh again...love it.
Wild turkeys can (I think), domesticated ones can’t
From wikipedia:
In September 2007, Smithers was involved in a bizarre traffic accident. She was driving naked on a remote California highway late at night when she stopped for help with her vehicle. She was seriously injured when struck by a truck she was trying to wave down for assistance. The truck’s driver said he did not see her until it was too late. Family members believe she had suffered a breakdown after the recent death of her father.
I hope she’s on the mend.
Yikes!
Prayers for a mental and physical recovery.
Had not heard that. I hope she is getting well, too.
The dreams of our youth still burn bright even as we ourselves grow dimmer and dimmer...
Domesticated ones can barely walk! L0L
I’ve seen that segment a dozen times and It still makes me laugh. A classic.
Jan as always looked good!
And there is a lot of merit in your theory: "cute women age better than the ones who were the hotties in their day."
Myself, I've just getting fatter... and prettier!
The funniest line ever uttered on network television
Yep. Jan Smithers was hot.
Can you believe that she was once married to Mr. Babs Striesand! Yup, she was married to James Brolin.

Wild ones can!
“Modern” turkeys can’t fly because of the breeding specifically for the breast meat. Wild turkeys can and do fly, although just short distances. The wild meat is much darker in the breast because of this requirement for more oxygen supply to the breast muscles.
(I saw all about this on a History Channel show, I’m really not that smurt even when I stay at a Holiday Inn Express...)
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!
I wonder who wrote that script and if they’re still getting paid?
I’m all in favor for the writers earning just as much as the so-called “Stars.”
Along with the episode about the PHONE COPS!
Remember when radio stations had real live on-air personalities, not digitally programmed music? (sigh)
I liked the one when they Had a “Real People” type show follow Herb around. They talked about a promo involving the dancing duck. Then they interviewed the local ASPCA who told them the duck was standing on a stage made from a hot plate. When they wanted the duck to dance, someone would turn up the heat, thus making the duck “ Dance”/
Wild turkey’s can fly just fine......for short distances.
